A reminder for today

He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds. (Titus 2:14)

Welcome to warrior Friday. This is warrior school and today we will begin our training. You will be a hard-hitting smasher that fears nothing. You will run into the battle and destroy the enemy. You are going to be a warrior and you are going to fight until you can no more and then carry on. What do you need to know? You need to know what this training will consist of. Here is the five basic things every warrior needs.  

1) You need a weapon. Here is the latest in a in our defence. The Bible. 
2) You will need armour. Here is our armour. The belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, footwear of the readiness of the gospel, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, sword of the Spirit and prayer. 
3) You will need training. We train on our knees in prayer. 
4) You will need assistance. We have the Holy Spirit. 
5) You will need purpose. Jesus Christ is our purpose.

Now stand up warrior of the knights of Jesus and rise. Your leader gave His life to free you from all sin and all fear. He cleaned you of all that keeps you from fighting. You are His warriors. Come and let us step into this battle by doing good deeds, facing the giants, spreading the gospel and fighting for our people by prayer. 

You are chosen by your King for this fight and He may not choose the best or the strongest, but He chooses the right one. He choose you and He will equip you for these battles. Trust your commander and King and have faith in His plan and His decisions. Together we will send the enemy running and free those enslaved by the lies of the enemy.

Lord, we are your warriors and we step into our battles today fearless and courageous. We know that you have already defeated the enemy and you have taken away all our sins. Let us rise up united and break the enemy’s defences so that we will send him running out of our lands. Let us free those in his chains and bring glory to you. Let us wear your armour and fight without ever giving up. In Jesus name.

Today Reminder – 30 March 2017

A reminder for today

Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good. (Titus 1:16)

I watched the interview with Jim Caviezel again yesterday. If you do not know him, he played the role of Jesus in the movie “Passion of the Christ”. Jim says a few amazing things on his experience, but what I loved is that he mentioned everyone will come to a stage where you will have to choose between Jesus and this world. We all live our lives and most people want the resurrection, but very few wants the suffering. The reality is that Jesus died on that cross for all of us, but if you want to be a Christian, you will have to carry your cross through this life. The enemy is out there and he is looking for your weaknesses so that he can destroy you. Our greatest weakness is sin and we can be so blind to it. Sin is the one thing that keeps us from living our life one hundred percent for Jesus. I believe that in sin we deny Jesus and why would we do that when we passionately fight for Him each day. Why would we allow the enemy to confuse us with lies and why would we even listen to him? Is it habit or is it pure weakness? 

Have you ever watched the Olympics? When an athlete steps up on that podium to receive their medal they are always emotional and that is because at that moment they realise that all their sacrifices and hard work paid off. To complete the race and receive the medal after months of hard work is what you worked for. To be a Christian is the same. You are in for it and you are going to make sacrifices. It is not easy and you will feel at some stages that you just cannot carry on. However, in your efforts and work you are not alone, because you have Jesus with you all the way and He is the best motivational speaker. He encourages and He strengthens us. He is our light and our hope. He is our goal and when we succeed in this race, the prize is just amazing.

So do not be like those who claim they know God, but deny Him by the way they live. Be like a warrior that will not turn His back on his King. Be like an athlete that does not give up. Be like a water that continues to flow and adapt so that you will overcome all the obstacles in life. Our God is not dead, He is in us and He roars like a lion. With Him, we have no fear for what is to come. 

Lord, I pray that we live lives that will glorify you and testify of your existence. I pray that you will give us the strength to rise above our challenges so that we will not give up. I pray for victories in all the lives of all you people. Let us wear your armour as we step out into the battleground. In Jesus name.

Today Reminder – 29 March 2017

A reminder for today

This letter is from Paul, a slave of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ. I have been sent to proclaim faith to those God has chosen and to teach them to know the truth that shows them how to live godly lives. (Titus 1:1)

Last night we watched the movie “God’s not dead”. Therefore, I decided to update our movie of the month with this one. Little too early, sorry could not help myself. Now you will love this one. It is about a student that stands up for God against an atheist lecturer. It is very good and it will surely help you in your defence against the enemy. You see it is amazing to see to what extends the enemy will go to get us to turn away from God. He will use family, friends and even teachers to break us. All I can say is one very important thing and you should write this one in your heart. Jesus said: “Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.”

Now today I want you to remember that we are slaves of God and apostles of Jesus Christ. We have been send to proclaim faith to those God has chosen and to teach them to know the truth and how to live godly lives. We are the voice of God in a very troubled world. So many will believe anything and so many are trapped by the enemy in their anger that they have forgotten God. We need to show them through our faith that God is not dead and that He is very much alive. We need to carry His Word with us and bring Jesus to the hurt and to the lost. Everyone needs God and more now than ever before. Do not give up, my friend, keep fighting and keep trying. 

"If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine. If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it. Anyone who receives you receives me, and anyone who receives me receives the Father who sent me. If you receive a prophet as one who speaks for God, you will be given the same reward as a prophet. And if you receive righteous people because of their righteousness, you will be given a reward like theirs. And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.” (Matthew 10)

Lord, I pray for all your people and I ask that you will give us the strength to face all our challenges today and carry your Word to every person we meet. Let us stand firm in our faith and acknowledge you before the world. We gladly give up our lives for you and we worship you alone. Let us wear your armour and keep fighting. In Jesus name.
