Today Reminder - 31 October 2011

My prayer for you for today is that the Lord will fill your mind, body and soul and that you will be free from the troubles of this world.

John 3:30
He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.

After it rained here in Africa, everything seems so much cleaner and clearer. The sky is bright blue, the plants are greener, and the roads are clean. People seem friendlier and the air is so clean. When Jesus is the centre of your life and the Holy Spirit lives in you then you are almost like a new day after it rained. You are different than everyone else, you are at peace. You have worries but they don’t consume you, you have work but you enjoy it, you are happy and friendly all the time. You see, I believe that with the Holy Spirit living in us we are to be different than everyone else. We have the life giving Spirit that raised Jesus in us. We are different! Let us take on this day and be different.

When your focus is on Jesus, your goals will become so much easier.

Rain, rain wonderful rain…

Have an awesome day.

Cheers

Two Wolves - 28 October 2011

 TWO WOLVES

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.
"One is Evil -  It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
"The other is Good -  It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee replied, "The one you feed."

Today Reminder - 28 October 2011

My prayer for you for today is that the Lord will protect you and keep you and your loved ones safe, and that God will tie the
hands of all evil that will come your way so that they will have no power.

Psalm 144
Praise the Lord, who is my rock. He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle. He is my loving ally and my fortress, my tower of safety, my rescuer. He is my shield, and I take refuge in Him.

I think in our daily lives we are constantly at war. We face enemies in the form of the evil force of the unseen world as Paul writes in the last chapter of Ephesians. Alone we will not be able to withstand the continuous attacks of a relentless enemy. But with God we can defeat this enemy easily. In our preparation for this battle we must use basic tactics. We must have continuous contact with God, in other words: Spend more time in prayer. We must refer to our guidelines: Read the word and the Holy Spirit bind it in us. Don’t lose focus of our objective: Spread the word and this world is only temporary.

It is only a short while of struggling until an eternity of peace.

God is consistent, fair and always there.

Its Friday, be blessed and rest well.

Today Reminder - 27 October 2011

My prayer for you for today is that the light of Jesus in you will influence those around you.

John 3:21
But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.

You have a special purpose in the kingdom of God. Before you were born, God had already seen your life and what great part you will play in His plan. You are planned, designed and created by God. Then He continually walks with you, watching over you and guiding you. He is always hard at work making sure that you will be equipped and strengthened in every situation you face. God is the master architect, and He is in control. You play a vital part. We cannot see the whole design and how our small part has a tremendous effect in it all, but God can. So do not ever think you are insignificant. You are not! You are part of the machine and you can make it all fall into place much easier. So, remember that you are important to God and He will never ever let you fight alone.

Let’s bring change in our lives by letting God’s light influence those we see every day.

Cloudy days! looking forward to the rain.

Today is going to be a great day.

Cheers

Today Reminder - 26 October 2011

My prayer for you for today is that the Lord will renew your love for Him and that you will be blessed in this day and in everything you do as a child of God.

John 1:12-13
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

You are a child of God, created in His image. I just love that part, knowing that God sees me as His child. A short moment, giving your heart to God allows this awesome and Almighty God to change your life forever. You are then seen as His child, and God is the best parent you can possibly imagine. His love for you as His child is an unbreakable bond that will last to eternity. Open your heart today and just renew this relationship with Him.

A new day brings new possibilities.

Have an awesome day.

The Resurrection - 25 October 2011

Luke 24:5-8
The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, "Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive?  He isn't here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day." Then they remembered that he had said this.
How Does the Resurrection Affect Us?

If we believe in the evidence of the resurrection of Jesus Christ as recorded in the New Testament, what significance does the resurrection have for us?

In the resurrection of Jesus Christ we see the clear demonstration of the power of the true God. Ephesians 1:19-21 tells us that it is the power of our heavenly Father that raised Jesus Christ from the dead.
The resurrection proves that Jesus Christ is God. That is exactly what God the Father wanted to communicate to us, as we read in Romans 1:4. The Jews crucified Jesus Christ because, to them, he was blaspheming when he said that he was the Son of God, equal to the Father. The resurrection of Jesus Christ demonstrates the truth that he is who he said he was.

Our salvation depends on our faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In Romans 10:9, we are told how to be saved. It says that “if you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” This means that you cannot be a Christian unless you believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This should tell us that even if some people are in churches, if they reject the resurrection of Jesus Christ, they are not Christians.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ demonstrates to us that all the teachings of Jesus Christ are true. Everything Jesus taught was true, including his great promise in John 6:40, “Everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” Jesus’ teachings concerning his person, his work, heaven, hell, and the future judgment are all true.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ secured our justification. “Christ died for our sins and he was raised for our justification,” Paul says in Romans 4:25.

Our own resurrection depends completely on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Read 1 Thessalonians 4:14: “We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.” There are a number of other verses concerning this, including 2 Corinthians 4:14, and others.

The power for our Christian life in the present is the power of his resurrection. We read about this in Ephesians 1:19-21, as well as in Romans 6:4: “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” People ask me, “How can we live this Christian life?” We can live it by the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ demonstrates that this Jesus Christ is going to be the appointed judge of all the wicked people in the world. In Acts 17:31, Paul told the Athenians, “‘For he [God] has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead.’” We see the same idea in John 5:22 where Jesus said, “Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son.” In verses 27-29 he continued, “And he has given him authority to judge, because he is the Son of Man. Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out— those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.” The resurrection of Jesus Christ means that he will raise up everyone who ever lived—some to eternal life and some to eternal damnation—and Jesus Christ will be the judge of the wicked. All who have trusted in their fallen reason and rejected the claims of Jesus Christ will be raised up from the dead by Jesus Christ himself. He will judge and damn them.

Today reminder - 25 October 2011

My prayer for you for today is that you will have such a beautiful day and all your worries will fade away.

Psalm 117
1 Praise the LORD, all you nations.
Praise him, all you people of the earth.
2 For he loves us with unfailing love;
  the LORD's faithfulness endures forever.

Praise the LORD!

When we are tired we will find strength. When we are weak, we are strong.

Hoping for rain, have a super day.

Today reminder 24 October 2011

My prayer for you for today is that there will be no darkness in your day and that the light of Jesus will fill you completely.

John 1:1-5
In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through Him, and nothing was created except through Him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

Darkness can never overpower light, light is always victorious.

When you see the run rises here in Africa, as it slowly moves up out behind the mountains. You can easily see how darkness fades away and light moves in.

This is what Jesus does in our lives. He is the light that moves in and clears the dark. He is the hope when all hope is gone. And in the same way that He takes darkness away, He also took our sins away and washed us a clear as day.
Let Him clear you troubles and guide you through your dark moments, so that His light will take over and God will be glorified in your life.

Today will be a great day!

Cheers

Today Reminder 21 October 2011

My prayer for you for today is that the Lord will exceed all your expectations and that you will shine in His light.

Luke 24:32 and 45-48
They said to each other, "Didn't our hearts burn within us as He talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?"

Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. And He said, "Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of His name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: 'There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.' You are witnesses of all these things.

Even a soft breeze brings about change in nature.

Jesus can change the coldest heart, don’t give up.

This is going to be a great day and an awesome weekend.

Today Reminder 20 October 2011

My prayer for you for today is that there will be no obstacles that will keep you from placing your faith in Jesus, and that you will know you are forgiven and free of everything that holds you back.

Romans 3:22
We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

Like the rain cleans the earth, Jesus washed away our sins.

Today is a beautiful day.

A thought for today - 18 October 2011

Luke 22:34
But Jesus said, "Peter, let me tell you something. Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me."

It is one of the easiest things to do, to deny that you know Jesus. Peter did it and he followed Jesus every day. Just as Peter was facing a typical worldly situation and came into a position where he was challenged he chose to deny Jesus.
In our daily lives, how many times don’t we deny Jesus in the circumstances that we face. Is it when among friends, or is it when we are in trouble or even when we travel to work. Is it when we look at other or when we are supposed to help or lend a hand? It can be so many places.

It is so important that you ask Jesus to give you strength in these situations so you don’t deny Him. What you must remember is that He is always with you and rising up in difficult situations brings glory to God and can possibly touch the hearts of those that need’s to find Him.

It is in us that people see Jesus.

To God be all the glory

Today Reminder 18 October 2011

My prayer for you for today is that the Lord will raise you up and lift high above all that could possibly make you fall.

Romans 6:5
Since we have been united with Him in His death, we will also be raised to life as He was.

Cloudy skies and the possibility of rain…

All is made new in Jesus.

Have a glorious day

Cheers

Just a thought for today - 17 Oct 2011

Luke 21
12 "But before all this occurs, there will be a time of great persecution. You will be dragged into synagogues and prisons, and you will stand trial before kings and governors because you are my followers.13 But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me.14 So don't worry in advance about how to answer the charges against you,15 for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you!

I just love this section where Jesus tells us that we will be persecuted and we will have hardships before He returns. But then He adds that when you are dragged to stand trial because we are His followers, it is an opportunity to tell those that persecutes us about Jesus.

Take every moment to show God’s love to those around you, even when they mock and laugh at you.  Let the Holy Spirit be your guide.

I will pray that God gives you strength in every hardship.

Today reminder 17 October 2011

My prayer for you for today is that the Lord will hear you prayer and be with you in every step of this day.

Psalm 86:1-7
Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help. Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly. Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you. O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. Listen closely to my prayer, O LORD; hear my urgent cry. I will call to you whenever I'm in trouble, and you will answer me.

I just love a rainy night.

It is an awesome new day. Enjoy the presence of the Lord in every moment.

Today Reminder 14 October 2011

My prayer for today is that you will trust the Lord like a child in every situation today.

Luke 18:16-17
Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it."

New beginnings and new challenges only victory with Jesus.

Have an awesome weekend

See you Monday

Today Reminder 13 October 2011

Good morning,

My prayer for you for today is that your faith will be renewed and that the Lord will free you from the troubles that you face.

Luke 16:13
"No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."

Do you feel sometimes that you are losing the fight and that the temptations of this world are getting to you? I guess we feel like that on a regular basis and this is the days that it seems almost impossible to stand up again. We start to slip and we just keep on falling.

The disciples had a question like that for Jesus, when Jesus said that is harder for a rich man to get to heaven than it is for a camel to go through the eye of a needle.

Their comment was that how can anyone then go to heaven and Jesus said: Everything is possible to God.
The days when you are down and out are the days when you must just trust God. He will pull you through, however simple that sounds. He loves you too much to lose you to something so trivial than this world.

Freedom found in Jesus – everlasting.

Blue skies and bright smiles, a new day is here.

Enjoy every moment

Cheers

Today reminder

My prayer for you for today is that you will find your way to the arms of Jesus so that you can be filled with His awesome love.

Luke 15:7
In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven't strayed away!

How amazing this Jesus, how awesome to know that heaven rejoice in the return of a lost son or daughter.
Every person in this world is important to God. You are important to Him, He wants you to join Him in heaven, the perfect place.

Let’s change our focus today. It is not about this world, but instead it is about the one we are going to. Don’t miss out on the chance to make a difference in the lives of those around you.

Making a difference, you are awesome. Today is so cool.

Have an awesome one

Cheers

Just a thought

Luke 12
27 "Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.28 And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
29 "And don't be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don't worry about such things.30 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs.31 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.
32 "So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.”

What an awesome message from Jesus. Just to remind us how important we are in God’s plan. How much He loves us. I just love this: "So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.”

God just wants you to place your trust in Him, and spend time with Him. He loves you so much, take a moment and just tell God again how much you love Him and that you need Him to take away your troubles.

Let the Holy Spirit guide you through this day and let Him show you how God keeps you in His hands. You are vital to the success of God’s kingdom and He needs you. He designed you for this purpose to bring glory to His name. Join me today as we show the world that God is love and that He loves everyone.

Today Reminder

My prayer for you for today is that the Lord will hear your prayer and that you will feel His presence in your life.

Psalm 145:17-21
The LORD is righteous in everything He does; He is filled with kindness.
The LORD is close to all who call on Him, yes, to all who call on Him in truth.
He grants the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cries for help and rescues them.
The LORD protects all those who love Him, but He destroys the wicked.
I will praise the LORD, and may everyone on earth bless His holy name forever and ever.

Blue skies and expecting hearts, it is going to be a glorious day.

Today reminder

My prayer for you for today is that you will find the treasure of Jesus in your life and that this world will never be able to corrupt you.

Luke 12:15
Then he said, "Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own."

Today is such a beautiful day I just can’t resist adding the following to today’s reminder:

Luke 12:12-26
Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said, "That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing. Look at the ravens. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds! Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can't accomplish a little thing like that, what's the use of worrying over bigger things?

Have an awesome day

Monday 10 October 2011

Luke 9

THE TRANSFIGURATION

28 About eight days later Jesus took Peter, John, and James up on a mountain to pray.29 And as he was praying, the appearance of his face was transformed, and his clothes became dazzling white.30 Suddenly, two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared and began talking with Jesus.31 They were glorious to see. And they were speaking about his exodus from this world, which was about to be fulfilled in Jerusalem.
32 Peter and the others had fallen asleep. When they woke up, they saw Jesus' glory and the two men standing with him.33 As Moses and Elijah were starting to leave, Peter, not even knowing what he was saying, blurted out, "Master, it's wonderful for us to be here! Let's make three shelters as memorials—one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."34 But even as he was saying this, a cloud overshadowed them, and terror gripped them as the cloud covered them.
35 Then a voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him."36 When the voice finished, Jesus was there alone. They didn't tell anyone at that time what they had seen.

When we look at the transfiguration of Jesus a number of things might stand out. For example: Moses and Elijah appeared and talked to Jesus who represented the old covenant, the prophets and the new covenant. Moses being the old covenant, Elijah representing the prophets and Jesus the new covenant. We can even look at the conversation that was about Jesus fulfilling the prophecy to die in Jerusalem. But to me there is something else that I want you to see today. It is in the small things. Jesus prayed and His appearance changed, and God said that this is His son. And He clearly said listen to Him.

In our lives every day we can transfigure Jesus. You see the Lord is in us and us in Him. When the world looks at us the can see Jesus. How do we transform Him to the world? Do we show His love? And do we listen to His holy spirit?
When we pray we can also be transformed. The more we pray the stronger our bond becomes with Jesus. The more His glory will reflect in our lives.

Today, let your light shine out to this world and let Jesus be transfigured in you. For Jesus said in Luke 11:36: “If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light."

Jesus lives!

To God be all the glory.

Today Reminder

My prayer for you for today is that in the centre of all that you face you will find Jesus and that nothing will ever take that from you.

Luke 10:41-42
But the Lord said to her, "My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her."

It is so important to see what happened here. And how we must implement Jesus’s advice in our lives. Marta was overwhelmed with many things and was disturbed but Mary simply Sat down and listened to Jesus. Mary had made the right choice according to Jesus. To listen to Jesus is our priority and the worries of life should never prevent us from eating the word of God first.

Spend time with God and bring your concerns to Him, let Him show you the right way. Place your trust in God, in fact you must rebuild this relationship with Jesus and ask for the Holy Spirit every day. Don’t let this world take that from you.

This will be a glorious day.

Have an awesome weekend. I’ll see you on Monday.

Today power thought

My prayer for you for today is that your faith will be renewed, and that you will be strong and have courage to deal with today.

Psalm 103:1-6
Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise His holy name. Let all that I am praise the LORD;  may I never forget the good things He does for me. He forgives all my sins  and heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle's!  The LORD gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly.

Today is a gift

Luke 9

JESUS HEALS A DEMON-POSSESSED BOY

37 The next day, after they had come down the mountain, a large crowd met Jesus.38 A man in the crowd called out to him, "Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, my only child.39 An evil spirit keeps seizing him, making him scream. It throws him into convulsions so that he foams at the mouth. It batters him and hardly ever leaves him alone.40 I begged your disciples to cast out the spirit, but they couldn't do it."

41 Jesus said, "You faithless and corrupt people! How long must I be with you and put up with you?" Then he said to the man, "Bring your son here."

42 As the boy came forward, the demon knocked him to the ground and threw him into a violent convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the evil spirit and healed the boy. Then he gave him back to his father.43 Awe gripped the people as they saw this majestic display of God's power.

Have you ever felt that God is not with you? Have you ever felt that the task at hand is much greater than what you can deal with?

I believe the disciples must have felt that they can’t cast out this evil spirit, they might have felt not able, maybe unworthy, maybe not strong enough, maybe they thought that Jesus will do it anyway or maybe they were scared.

We are also in situations from time to time where we are vulnerable and the enemy will come in and make us feel weak. And worst of all, in these times we neglect to take our worries and concerns to Jesus and we chose not to have faith in Him.

Jesus said that He will never leave you and He said that God will take better care of you than what He does to the animals. You are much more important to Him than you think.

You can see how angry Jesus was with His disciples that they had so little faith. With God all things are possible and nothing and nobody can be against you and will succeed.

Take a moment and renew your faith, place your trust in Him and let God guide you through troubled times.

To God be all the glory

To remember

James 1:19-21

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.

Luke 7

JESUS ANOINTED BY A SINFUL WOMAN

36 One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to have dinner with him, so Jesus went to his home and sat down to eat.37 When a certain immoral woman from that city heard he was eating there, she brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume.38 Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing his feet and putting perfume on them.
39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, "If this man were a prophet, he would know what kind of woman is touching him. She's a sinner!"
40 Then Jesus answered his thoughts. "Simon," he said to the Pharisee, "I have something to say to you."
  "Go ahead, Teacher," Simon replied.
41 Then Jesus told him this story: "A man loaned money to two people—500 pieces of silver* to one and 50 pieces to the other.42 But neither of them could repay him, so he kindly forgave them both, canceling their debts. Who do you suppose loved him more after that?"
43 Simon answered, "I suppose the one for whom he canceled the larger debt."
"That's right," Jesus said.44 Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon,"Look at this woman kneeling here. When I entered your home, you didn't offer me water to wash the dust from my feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair.45 You didn't greet me with a kiss, but from the time I first came in, she has not stopped kissing my feet.46 You neglected the courtesy of olive oil to anoint my head, but she has anointed my feet with rare perfume.
47 "I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love."48 Then Jesus said to the woman, "Your sins are forgiven."
49 The men at the table said among themselves, "Who is this man, that he goes around forgiving sins?"
50 And Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."

The burden of sin destroyed the world, but then Jesus came and did the unthinkable. He took that burden upon Himself. He took away your sin as He forgave this woman of her many sins. Sin must not have any hold on you. Once you accepted Jesus in your life you will have the complete burden free peace of mind. Don’t let Satan try and deceive you. Jesus freed us all. In Him you will find complete peace. Keep your focus on Him and spend time with Him. He did this unbelievable deed because He loves you.

See how grateful this woman was, she cried tears to wash His feet. She dried His feet with her hair and anointed Jesus with perfume.

We must spend more time at the master’s feet, listening, hearing and worshipping like children. We must anoint Him with our praises and our lives.
