A reminder for today

You've been there for me
through the good times and bad
I know I can count on you
to be there when I'm sad

Life without you
just wouldn't be right
I wouldn't be able to get through
each day and night

When I've had a bad day
I know that you're only a call away
When life takes that crazy turn
You are always there to help me learn

We've had so many good times together
I know we'll be best friends forever
No matter where we are
I know we'll never be too far

You're my idol, my brother, my friend
We'll be together till the end
Even when we're old and grey
You'll be here still, to help me get on my way 

You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. (Psalm 23)

Today Reminder – 29 September 2014 (Day 21 – My friend)

A reminder for today

But Ruth replied, "Don't ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD punish me severely if I allow anything but death to separate us!" (Ruth 1:16-17)

My dear friend, how can I turn from you? I will go where you go and I will live where you live. Every morning when you wake I will be there to pick you up and every day I will be there to walk with you and guide you through all the challenges of each day. I will uplift you and give you strength. I will carry you when you fall and I will take care of your pain. I will encourage you and I will fill you with unlimited strength so that nothing will come between us. I will love you unconditionally and I will find you when you get lost and feed you when you go hungry. I will listen to you day and night and give you my shoulder to you to cry on. I will hold you when you are cold and send you a breeze when you are warm. I will be there when you are sick and I will take you to the correct doctors so that they can take good care of you. I will bless you and your family and I will make sure that you always have enough. Trust me, my friend and have faith for I have already done these things and I will continue to do so just as I have given my life for you so that you do not need to worry about tomorrow – that is my job. I love you my friend and I will always.

Today Reminder – 26 September 2014 (Day 20 – My friend)

A reminder for today

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares. 

Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, "For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.") No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. (Romans 8:35 - 37)

Today Reminder – 25 September 2014 (Day 19 – My friend)

A reminder for today

"Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life."

Today Reminder – 24 September 2014 (Day 18 – My friend)

A reminder for today

Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honouring each other. (Romans 12:10)

My dear friend, it is with love that we stand united in the bond we share in Jesus Christ. God is love and therefore His presence in us makes our bond stronger. Friends are there to know you for who you are and more so will we know each other if we share something as unique as the love of a life giving God. To love each other with genuine affection means loving truthfully and remaining loyal regardless circumstances. When we take delight in honouring each other we respect each other and carry each other on our hands. Friendship is so important and more so for us to have someone to talk to, someone that truly understands and never judges. Someone that we can trust fearlessly and honestly so that we can share all that we face and all that we encounter in our lives. You are my friend and I pray that I will always be the one that can uplift you and carry you in my prayers. You are so amazing my friend and so wonderfully made. You rock!!
