Today Reminder – 28 November 2014 (Day 20 – Moments)

A reminder for today
I, the LORD, have dedicated these soldiers for this task. Yes, I have called mighty warriors to express my anger, and they will rejoice when I am exalted." (Isaiah 13:3)

Today my moment is those gallant men and women fighting terror to keep us safe. These are the men and women in the armed forces – the military and the police. They walk fearlessly into danger so that we can sleep safely at night.

But then again, did you know that you and I are soldiers too? When I look at you today my friend and see a mighty warrior. We walk into the battles of life each day and we fight the good fight for faith and for the glory of God. Some days we slip and fall and the enemy seem to get the better of us but other days we fight fearlessly with truth and honour and we defeat the enemy at the gates.

Today I want to salute you my friend for your bravery. I want to lift you up and carry you in my prayers as I pray that the Lord will strengthen you and give you the correct tools to win the fight and walk out in victory. I pray that you will fight tirelessly and with determination and that you will stand firmly on His foundation and carry His Word as your sword. I pray that today will be a day of many victories for you and that you will rise up at the end of this day more than a mighty warrior – you will be a hero.

You are my hero my friend, for your faith and for your pure heart. In Jesus we already have victory. Walk without fear and carry the gospel in your heart.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder – 27 November 2014 (Day 19 – Moments)

A reminder for today
With joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation! (Isaiah 12:3)

Our salvation lies in Jesus Christ and with this verse in my head I have a multitude of thoughts that is bubbling everywhere in my brain. Jesus is the water of life. He is that spring that flows through us refreshing our spirits and giving us hope. He is the very reason for my existence and the reason I get up and fight again today. He is the blood rushing through my veins and the air that fills my lungs. He is all that I am.

Jesus replied, "Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life. (John 4:13-14)

My moment today is you and me standing at the side of a swimming pool on a very hot day. We dive in and the cool water refreshes us and drains out the heat filling us with a new found coolness. As we rise up out of the water it splashes out of the pool all over those standing on the side and they too are refreshed by the cold water that now covers us all. As the water drips of us we are renewed in our strength and our passion is regained so that we can face the heat in the midst of this dry storm.

The waves of that we made when we dived in now splashes on the sides of the pool breaking the drought on the ground beside the pool and spreading all over the entire area. With joy all of us drink deeply from the fountain that burst out of the ground as the Spirt enters.

On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, "Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.'" (John 7:37-38)

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 26 November 2014 (Day 18 – Moments)

A reminder for today
See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The LORD GOD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. (Isaiah 12:2)

It is quiet in my head today. I always joke and say that there are many voices in my head and I have a multiple of personalities. I guess those who work with me will agree that I am often a little weird. But what do we do when the voices are quiet? What do we do when that wall exists between us and God? When we feel we have no words to talk to God and our hearts are sore.

I sometimes get that drowning feeling, when you feel the world closes up on you and you struggle for your breath. When the walls start to tumble around you and the ground is shaking with the waves of challenges that is out of our control.

Today I look up at the heavens and my moment is the moment my silence is broken. God has come to save me. He has sent His Son Jesus Christ for me. I will trust Him and follow His voice no matter how hard and how difficult it is sometimes. The Lord is my strength and He will give me victory, just as He had done so many times before. I will end this day with a song. As song for Him and for His glory.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 25 November 2014 (Day 17 – Moments)

A reminder for today
He will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited. The earth will shake at the force of his word, and one breath from his mouth will destroy the wicked. He will wear righteousness like a belt and truth like an undergarment. (Isaiah 11:4-5)

I love a rainy night. I live to hear the thunder and see the lightning as it spreads through the sky lightning up the earth and breaking the darkness. I love that sound the rain makes at it falls all over the earth and the smell of rain as it fills the air. The continuous downpour makes me peaceful as I watch the rain drops highlighted by distant thunder. I love that thunderous roar as the thunder makes everything tremble.

I often think that when Jesus comes it should be like that. The earth should tremble as His presence shakes and roars over the sky. Everyone will tremble when He speaks and all will drop to their knees when they realize who He is.

Our God is so powerful and so amazing. One Word from His mouth will destroy all wickedness. My friend, today my moment is the Word of our Lord and the power that lies behind our thoughts, words and prayers. I have written to you before that we should speak life over other. Our words should be uplifting and we should try and refrain from negative words and thoughts. We should speak only what we would want other to say about us.

Let us take on today and speak life over all. Let our words be His Words and let these words destroy all wickedness. Our Lord wears righteousness like a belt and truth like an undergarment and His breath will destroy all that is against us. Walk and see the thunder around you.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 24 November 2014 (Day 16 – Moments)

A reminder for today
The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine. (Isaiah 9:2)

When I ran Friday morning we did not have any power in our estate so it was quite dark. As I ran I looked up to see the heavens open and clear after the rain in the last week. The stars were so bright as filled the sky and broke the darkness to give me a light that I could use as I ran. I looked up to see the Southern Cross above me and I could just feel His presence as I ran. I always say I never run alone, the Lord always runs with me, because we are always in conversation as I talk to Him about the day that lies ahead. I love this time on the road, it is our moment out in the crispy morning air away from the rush of the world.

Breaking the darkness - This I my thoughts for today. Jesus came into this world as the light to an already dark and treacherous place. The world was lost, but He came to reunite us with the Father and break this darkness. When you put a light in a dark place the darkness can never overpower that light, no matter how faint it is. When Jesus enters your life, nothing can take away that light even it is only a tiny glimmer at first. When this little light gets power it becomes a sun that will destroy all darkness, not only the dark that you faced, but all the darkness around you.

For those of us that face dark times or we are in the midst of them, His will break all darkness and bring you back into the warmth of His love and mercy.

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Verse 6)

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus
