Matthew 5

TEACHING ABOUT SALT AND LIGHT
13 "You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavour? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
  14
"You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

When Jesus lives in you there is a light that fills your body. Jesus is the light of the world in all its beauty and chaos. Once you have received this light is almost as if you won a great prize and you want  to tell and show everybody what you have. This light of Jesus is that prize and the amazing thing is you received it by grace. It is given to you out of love. Once your light is shining you can not hide it away, but instead you must stand up and let the world see it.
Like a city on a hilltop, shining brightly for everyone to see. Your light in a dark world can be a guiding light for someone else.
In the old the old days a light tower was the guide that ships used to steer clear of the rocks and find their way to the harbor.
There are so many people out there that are heading for the rocks and your light might be the only thing they see that will keep them from crashing into the rocks and finally sink to the depths of the dark unknown.
You might be the one that will keep them from ending up in hell.
Take your light and let is shine for all to see, let them see Jesus in your life so that they will want to have Him in their lives to.

To God be all the glory.
