Today Reminder - 31 May 2013 (Sing)

A reminder for today
The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. He is my refuge, my savior, the one who saves me from violence. I called on the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies. (2 Samuel 22:2-4)

David sang this song of praise to God who saved and protected him so many times. So my heart just felt the same today. I feel this deep desire to praise God for all that He has done. He has been so good to us through so many battles and so many challenges. I could sing of His praises forever.

Come with me today my dearest friend and let us honour God for all that He does and have done. The visible and the invisible things that God so lovingly moves into place while we sleep and while we are not even aware of it.
He is truly my place of safety, my refuge and my rock. He is my saviour and my shield against the arrows of the enemy and my sanity.

I pray that you will truly feel and see the hand of God at work in your live and that you will find an unexplainable inner peace that will carry you through whatever it is that burdens you at this moment. I pray that God’s love and strength will lift your spirits and fill you with joy even when you are down and sad and lost. May this day bring freedom to your heart that will last and fill you with courage that will carry you through every difficulty that may cross your path.

Sing with me today and let us praise God for He is just awesome.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder - 30 May 2013 (Time)

A reminder for today
All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him. (2 Samuel 14:14)

Absalom avenged his sister Tamar and ran away from Jerusalem. Joab asked a wise woman to speak to King David so that Absalom may return. Her words were so amazing that I just had to stop there for a moment.

She says that everybody dies eventually and that our lives are like water spilled on the ground. This is such an amazing comparison. We all know life is short, but we tend to forget it from time to time. When all is doing well and the worries of life a little less, we seem to forget that all of this is just a mere moment. But as soon as a life is lost we are instantly brought back to reality and we realise once again that our time here are a gift and that every breath we take must be done with gratitude and respect.

My dear friend, life is short and every moment passed is a moment closer to the end. Make sure that you are closer to God with every passing moment and do not stare yourself blind at the good times, but keep an open mind remembering that time does not stop.

So come with me and let us live every moment for God and let us not miss out on the wonderful blessing God has installed for us in the next moment by getting lost in the past. Live my dear friend, live and breathe life into every person and into every passing moment.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder - 29 May 2013 (Mistakes)

A reminder for today
Then David confessed to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD." Nathan replied, "Yes, but the LORD has forgiven you, and you won't die for this sin. (2 Samuel 12:13)

David did a terrible thing by taking Uriah’s wife and ordering Joab, the commander of his army, to place Uriah at the area where the battle was the fiercest. Uriah died and David married his wife. This made God very angry at David.

David is such an awesome example of a pure heart for God, yet he too slipped and fell under the deception of the enemy. The enemy saw a weakness that they could exploit in David and used it to try and bring him down. Unfortunately David’s love for God was greater than his own weakness and his repentance brought forgiveness.

My dear friend, the enemy is constantly seeking your downfall and will do anything to destroy you. Do not let a mistake on your side bring separation between you and God, but instead let a mistake bring you closer and make you seek God more intensely. A humble repenting heart is more valuable than a stubborn grief stricken one.

Come and let us seek God’s forgiveness for our mistakes and try harder to withstand the enemy’s deceptions. You are way too valuable to loose, because of a mistake you made. I pray that the Lord will strengthen you against the enemy and protect you from its claws.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder - 28 May 2013 (Kindness)

A reminder for today
The king then asked him, "Is anyone still alive from Saul's family? If so, I want to show God's kindness to them." (2 Samuel 9:3)

How awesome is this. Saul was basically David’s enemy who tried to kill him on more than one occasion, yet David looks for Saul’s remaining family members to show God’s kindness to them.

My dear friend, how often do we show kindness to people, especially strangers? I know we live in a dangerous world where a stranger is the last person you wish to talk to, but do you show kindness to the homeless man on the street or the cashier at the supermarket or the telephone salesperson trying to sell you another cell phone or the man working at the gas station?

What is important here is that David did not show his own kindness, he showed God’s kindness and that is what we should do. We cannot show God to the world if we hide Him from them. If Jesus is in your heart, you should shout it out and let His light touch those you meet.

A warm smile and friendly hallo can change people.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder - 27 May 2013 (Dedicate)

A reminder for today
King David dedicated all these gifts to the LORD, as he did with the silver and gold from the other nations he had defeated. In fact, the LORD made David victorious wherever he went. (2 Samuel 8:11 and 14)

When I read this today I thought about the last couple of weeks and how wonderful God has been with me through them. I have been so blessed in my work and all that I did that I cannot help to think that none I have done was from my own ability. It all comes from God and therefore I will sing His praises.

David did not think himself to be the reason for his own success. He knew exactly where it came from and therefore he dedicated all his victories and gifts to God. This made David more successful.

My dear friend, God will do the same for you. God looks at the heart and a heart like David will always be victorious. So come with me today as we dedicate our gifts and talents to God and honour Him for all the successes we have. For it all comes from God and it all should be for His glory.

Let us lift up our hands and bring honour and glory to our King – Jesus Christ.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
