A reminder for
today
Therefore, since we
have been justified [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God]
by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of
reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the
Anointed). Through Him we also have access by faith into this
[remarkable state of] grace in which we [firmly and safely and securely] stand.
Let us rejoice in our hope and
the confident assurance of [experiencing and enjoying] the glory of [our great]
God [the manifestation of His excellence and power]. (Romans 5:1-2)
After spending time with my Lord and God and a good night’s
rest plus a strenuous workout, I feel a lot better today. It is another day
given to me by His mercy and grace. I realised yesterday that even if we
struggle the way we do we still have more than most in Africa. We have so much
to be grateful for and I think we need to sit back and just rejoice in the
blessing we have and the gift we have in Jesus.
You see it is Christmas and what is Christmas all about? It
is all about Jesus and what we have in Him. It is for Him and for His glory. We
cannot celebrate Christmas if it is only for the gifts. It is much more than
that. We need to be bold and we need to tell all how we have been justified by
our faith. How we have been acquitted of our sin and now stand blameless before
our Lord and God. We have to live in such a way that the peace we have with
God is clear and visible in us. It is so important that we rejoice in in our
hope and have joy in our faith. You see God is not visible when we live like
the rest of the world. The Lord is visible when we stand up in our hardships
and trust Him completely as I am trusting Him.
Without Jesus our lives are a buttonless pit that will never
be completely happy. Material things can not create happiness that last. Maybe in
the moment yes, but in the end, it is just another thing we have. Our true joy is
waking up another day and understanding the mercy and grace we receive freely
from our Lord and God. True joy is that we know there is no more condemnation for
us and that the grave will not hold us. Our joy is in the knowledge that our lives
will not be the end of us, but we will live in eternity with our creator through
the promise we have in Jesus Christ.
Lord, thank you for taking away our material trust and replacing
it with trust in you. Thank you for breaking me down so that I will once more celebrate
Christmas for the true and wonderful reason that is in you. Lord, thank you
that I know I have nothing to fear and that you will free us from our burdens
and all will be well in the end. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
