Today Reminder - 16 January 2012

My prayer for you for today is that you will know you are not foolish in following the Lord but that you will stand firm in it as you show the light of Jesus to the world. In Jesus Name.

1 Corinthians 1:18-21
The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.  As the Scriptures say,

"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise
and discard the intelligence of the intelligent." (Isa 29:14)

So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world's brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God in His wisdom saw to it that the world would never know Him through human wisdom, He has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe.

The narrow path. I think in today’s world with all the technology and constant archaeological findings with explanations of the so called “Big bang” theory and to top it off you have  television spreading a bunch of rumours and theories by clever people, it seems hard to be a Christian when your faith is constantly being attacked from all sides. The funny thing is it has been happening for many years. Paul had problems convincing the wise in his time and surely we will have trouble convincing the wise today. Paul clearly says that the good news of Christ is foolish to those headed for destruction. Following Jesus is a choice we make because the Holy Spirit has opened our eyes and our minds so that we can clearly see and feel the reality of a living God. But following Him is not a once off decision and now you are free from all temptation. The world will continue to attack you, because you have chosen correctly. The devil does not want you to succeed so he will do anything in his power to get you off your present path. He is the master of lies and he will make up as many as he can to confuse you. Why is it so much easier for people to follow a lie, than to follow the truth? I think it boils down to choice and will. You see it in our everyday lives, we have become creatures of comfort and we do not like to face difficulties. I think that is why so many followers of Christ are falling away, they will believe any nonsense just to have it easier. Following Jesus is no easy task, it is a constant and continuous spiritual training exercise. You have to spend time in prayer to make your spirit stronger and to build your bond with God. Alone you will slip, but with Jesus you will succeed. He is your life line and your saviour. Spend more time in prayer and reading the word so that you will be stronger in the continuous battle against the devil and his lies. My prayers are with you so that you will have victory in this day and every day that follows.

I am not alone in this fight against evil, I stand united with many as we bring honour to God with each new victory.
Have an awesome day, friend of Jesus.

Cheers.

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
