Today Reminder - 23 March 2012 (Rejoice)

My prayer for you for today is that you will live a clean and innocent life so that you will be a light shining for God, in Jesus name.

Philippians 2:14-17
Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ's return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless. But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God, just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy.

Rejoice. Do you sometimes feel that the walls are crumbling around you and that your world is falling apart? Do feel that you are left alone in a dark world struggling for survival? Do you feel lost and hurt? When the going gets tough we are always first to complain and argue. I see it so clearly in my own life, the minute the walls crumble and the problems seems bigger than the solutions, I start to complain and argue so much easier. What is the result of this? You see we argue with the ones we love and in most cases we will hurt each other, we complain about our problems yet we pray that God must help us. If I ask you to do something for me and I still go and do it myself, what does that tell you about my trust in you and how will that make you feel? Why do we ask God for help but we keep on complaining and arguing? What does that tell you about our faith? Do see the pattern; do see the devils agenda in all of this? That is exactly what he wants us to do, he wants us to mistrust God and argue, because he is all for pain and suffering. He knows if we do not wait patiently for God to change our circumstances according to His will, we will try and fix it ourselves or seek help somewhere else, and in the end it is not for God that we give the glory but for the devil, because we took his advice. That is why Paul writes that we must stop complaining and arguing so that no one can criticize you, so that no one can say that you call yourself a Christian but you do not trust God. This sacrifice and commitment will ultimately bring us closer to God and allow us to shine in a dark and perverse world, as true children of God.

So rejoice, Paul says that he will rejoice even if he loses his life, pouring it out as a liquid offering to God and he makes a bold statement to say just like our faithful service is an offering to God. Therefore you must take a moment and ask God to give you the strength and wisdom to completely trust Him and allow His will to be done so that the end result will glorify Him and make us shine as we offer our faithful service to God, living according to His will and faithfully trusting Him completely.

Have a great day, rejoicing for the Lord as you face yet another day in this amazing world.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
