Today Reminder - 10 October 2013 (Day 8 - Living in the Kingdom)

A reminder for today
“But as for you, be strong and courageous, for your work will be rewarded." (2 Chronicles 15:7)

I find myself this morning in a place where I realise once more that living in the kingdom of God is not an easy task. Carrying His Word and living a life that honours His name is difficult. People have this way of making things harder at times and I guess our own inability to remain focussed on the Lord and His voice can have negative results.

We could often feel that we are fighting a lost cause and that people so easily accept the side of darkness and rarely seek God’s way. Our own self is the cause of so many problems and issues in our lives and our selfishness can break down relationships and cause unnecessary pain.

I think that most of our issues are purely because we are too proud and too selfish in situations and often will not accept that we could be wrong or that we are wrong. I am thinking about Jesus and how He humbled Himself and became human so that He could give us what we could not achieve by ourselves. How much more should we humble ourselves for the kingdom of God so that we can show the light or be the light in dark situations or among those that find it difficult to see the light and change their ways.

The Holy Spirit is telling you and me today that we should be strong and courageous, because even though it might feel that you are fighting an endless fight, your work will be rewarded. Hearts will change and walls will crumble. Nothing is impossible for the Lord and He will break the barriers and set the captive hearts free.

Don’t give up!

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
