Today Reminder – 10 August 2015 (Day 6 – You)

A reminder for today
But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

Blood dripping from His wounds as He looks ahead at the crowd shouting and screaming at Him. They are confused because they are driven by lies and fuelled by hatred. He bends down to pick up the heavy dry wood, but His strength seems to have left Him as He stumbles and falls. Some are upset and others are laughing while soldiers shout at Him to get up again. He tries again, but He is too weak from severe blood loss and mall nutrition. The pain in His body has taken control of His thoughts as He stumbles again and falls into the dust.

An angry soldier pulls a man from the crowd and forces him to help Him. Together they battle to get the wood back on the man’s back. The man from the crowd is stunned for a moment as he feels the weight of the wood that lies on both their shoulders. He realised that this man has carried this wood up to here despite His pain and the crowd’s constant torment. For a moment he is filled with admiration and saddened when he realises that this man seems innocent.

They struggle up the hill while the man continuous to fall by the weight of the wood and after a long and physical exhausting battle they reach the top. The helping man is pushed aside as the soldiers pushes the tired man to the ground and laughs as the heavy wooden cross falls on Him.

He is placed on the cross as long and thick nails are driven through His hands and feet to display Him to the crowd as He fights for His life.

He looks down at the people and He sees you my friend. He sees you and He smiles for He knows that the task at hand is about to change the course of history. He knows, for only a little while longer the enemy will pursue your soul and then it will all be over. He knows your struggles and He knows your pain as He takes it all upon Himself. He dies so that you can live. He dies so that you can be free.

He dies, because He loves you endlessly.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
