Today Reminder – 17 August 2015 (Day 10 – You)

A reminder for today
Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry
and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. (Isaiah 58:10-11)

It is awesome when we are in full blossom and all around us we feel the amazing wonder of a magnificent God. We live in His blessings and we prosper in His mercy, but what of those around us that does not have what we have? What of the poor and the hungry? What of the blind and the weak?

This is a difficult one, because the enemy has found a way to confuse the givers. You see God makes it clear that we should help those in trouble and give to the poor, but there are so many con artists in the world today that takes advantage of the good hearts of people. So instead of working they will act like they are poor and beg. So it has happened that many of them have been offered jobs which they just rejected, because it is easier to beg than to put in a hard day’s work. So why work when other can take care of you. This causes the hearts of people to harden and they ignore these people, which mean that someone that truly needs help might be judged wrongly, because of this.

What to do? My opinion is that we should give regardless the person or the circumstance. God will open our eyes and guide us correctly so that we will give when it is truly needed. I believe that we should support the church in their outreaches to help those in need, because they will know where it is really needed, which means that you can give without the concern that your are helping a thief.

God teaches us that we should help other, so that we will lead them from the darkness by our light that shines. The Lord will guide us continually, giving us all we need. And I love this: You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.

So my dear friend be that light in this dark world for those who needs a light, because even that guy taking advantage of your kindness needs to see that light. Be that garden and be that spring that bubbles over with the joy of the Lord.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
