Today Reminder (Dust) – 31 August 2017

A reminder for today
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (Isaiah 41:10)

My title for today is dust. Now there is something we can talk about. Hopefully your first thought was not from dust to dust. I wanted to quote a song: “And another one bites the dust” as we find ourselves in the last day of August. Tomorrow is the first day of September and it also marks the first official day for spring here in South Africa. This means that winter is finally over and we can look forward to warmer and greener weather. It also takes us into our rainy season so this dusty air that we have will finally be over. I love a rainy night.

Every person goes through different seasons in their lives. Sometimes we are in a warmer summer phase and sometimes we are in a colder winter phase, whatever the phase we are facing now God is confirming what He has been saying to us in the last two days. God reminds us here in Isaiah that we must not fear or be dismayed (discouraged), because He will be with us. He is our God and He will strengthen us and help us. He will keep us up with His right hand of righteousness. He will not let the enemy get the better of us and He will guide us through our seasons.

This verse is for you and me, my friend, because God wants us to keep fighting and keep spreading His gospel and we must keep our faith and continue to patiently trust Him with all our hearts. He knows what awaits us and He will carry us through it all.

As the dust settles and the wind calms down. We find ourselves in the midst of a war against evil. Beside us is the Lord and in us His strength and power. We are mighty warriors and we fear nothing. We stand our ground and we face our foe head-on. We are armoured with the armour of God and as walk into battle. Our blood pumping with Godly power and our lives protected with the promise of eternity. Raise your swords and fight the enemy with the mighty Word of God. You are a fearless and awesome warrior of God. Live it out.

Lord, arm us with your armour and give us strength and courage as we walk into battle today. Let us bring glory to you as we shout our praises to you. Lord, we know you are with us and we know you will never let us stand alone. Fill us with your Spirt and give us wings so that we will soar with your Word and carry it to all we meet. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder (Give up) – 30 August 2017

A reminder for today
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)

Many people arrive at the moment in their lives (maybe more than once) where they just want to throw in the towel and give up. The enemy is a master at identifying your weaknesses and then he will focus on those until you break. It is his mission to burden you to a point where you have no more to give and to push you away from God so that you stand alone and then you are vulnerable.
I guess we all have that moment in our challenges when we just want to let go. This week I am over loaded with work. I am tired. I have failed the Lord and I have reached a point where I am so tired that I do not know how I will get to the next hour let alone the next day.

I love this verse. I have fought the good fight and I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. This is all that we need to do. We must keep the faith and finish the course. We must keep fighting the good fight and live out the gospel. The Lord came in this morning and just filled me with His Holy Spirit. He renewed my faith and reminded me that I must continue to trust Him. It is in these storms that we will see His glory, because we do not give up and because we keep fighting.

I do not know how things are at your side, but I know what the news tells me and I see what is happening in Texas and the rest of the world as we all face troubles. We must stand firm in our faith and fight the enemy on our knees. We must not give up, instead we must pray more.

I will be courageous and strong and I will face my storms with no fear, because I worship an all-powerful and amazing loving God. He will never forsake me and He will never let me stand alone. I will break the enemy and I will show God to all in all that I am and in all that I do. He is my greatest moments.

Lord, we bring the world and the challenges people are facing to you. We pray for the people of Texas during this terrible time and we ask that your name will be glorified and that you will strengthen those whom are working to save other. We ask that you will be with all who are reading this blog today and that you will be with them in the challenges and that you will show your glory and take away our burdens. I pray for strength and hope and I ask that you will keep us safe. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder (Yesterday) – 29 August 2017

A reminder for today
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Psalm 1:3)

Yesterday ended as a terrible day. I wrote a program on my own time to help one of our departments and so yesterday they said that it must be taken out of the release. Their original reason was not the truth and so I had to wait and ask for the real reason that sounded more like a lack of information or rather an opinion that was not in line with the reason behind my effort. So, I was very upset about this, because I felt we are doing good and then it was turned into something it was not. You can imagine my disappointment and in this moment of confusion I was angry. Instead of taking this time and listening to the Holy Spirit I followed my own head and it just got worse, because now I took out my frustration on the people closest to me. Instead of being a light in the darkness I caused more darkness.

I finally found myself in a place where I questioned all and everyone. I questioned my role, my position and my job. In all of this I did not for a moment turned to God for advice. I had to apologize to my wife for my irritation and I had to really take a moment and listen. To add to my confusion, I got an email that really made me feel incompetent. At this stage, I was firmly in the grip of the enemy and he was laughing all the way.

Finally, I realized that I am on a road to nowhere and I turned to God. The Lord reminded me that I am, once again, trying to do His job. He also reminded me that I am supposed to trust Him and let His will be done and this is His will. It is not about me, but about Him and I had the opportunity to show His glory, but failed miserably. Instead of bringing forth fruit, I brought pain and anger. So unnecessary. Therefore, I will let it all go and try again. I will stand up again and try again to be light and not allow darkness to confuse and consume me. I will bear fruit and I will trust the Lord. He is my rock and my foundation and all I need.

Short-tempered people do foolish things (Proverbs 14:17)

Lord, please come empty me of me and fill me with you. Clear my head and turn my focus back to you. You are my God and I will trust you with all my heart. I am holding on to you and you alone. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
