A reminder for
today
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto
your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good
things to them that ask him? Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men
should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Enter
ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that
leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait
is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be
that find it. (Matthew 12:11-14)
We spoke about temptation yesterday and how I think that
temptation in the one thing that prohibits many from finding grace and rather
continue on their crooked ways. In these verses I want to highlight a few
things. Let’s carry on with my current thought. You see Jesus said that wide is
the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction. I love this it ties in
so nicely with my dear atheist friends and their arguments that God does not exist.
For them the wide gate and the narrow path is much easier rather than accepting
that which we all know.
Jesus continued and said that many will follow that way, but
few will follow the narrow way, and few will find it. the narrow way is of
course the difficult way. It is the way that does not correspond with the way
of the world. In fact, it is entirely a completely different direction. Those who
argue that God does not exist is on that wide path and their current way of life
is much to nice to change.
But what they miss and what they try to argue away is the result
of the way of life. I said yesterday that hell is real, and it will be the
final destination of many if we cannot change their minds. The hard part is to
try and change a mind that is set in the broad way. How do we do that? Well changing
a mind is not something we do, that is something God does. We need to continue
to plant the seed to that it can find good soil to grow in. We need to prepare
that soil so that one day that person will see the light.
We do not force, and we do not fight with the lost. We merely
remind them that they are on the wrong path. Many atheists are either so chained
to a sinner life that they do not want to let go and some of them are angry at
God for not doing what they wanted. Many of them have this attitude that a loss
or hurt they experienced proved that God does not exist, and some will say that
the church could not answer their questions therefore they do not believe in
God. Whatever the reason or circumstance is their attitude is formed on a
misconception and maybe, just maybe their church did answer their question, but
it was not the answers they wanted.
In the end there is just two paths. The wide and easy one or
the narrow and hard one. The fact remains that many will follow the wrong path
just as we clearly see today. Therefore, it is imperative that you live a life
that upholds God's law and reflects Jesus in all that you do. I will end by
reminding you that Jesus said our Father will give you good things when you ask
Him for them. But do unto other that which you want them to do to you. You do
not want to end up in hell, so do not be afraid to share the path that leads to
life.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
