Today Reminder (Tempted) – 10 September 2018

A reminder for today
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

Atheists! You know sometimes I just want to say to them that they must get a grip and get over their arrogance and overblown egos. I get so upset when they arrogantly state that there is no evidence and then pops up the super intelligent ones with all the evolution crap and how man was once a monkey and now that monkey runs a country and drives a car. This is when I want to say that maybe their ancestors were monkeys, but I am sure mine was not. Maybe evolution can explain their tiny ability to apply common sense and their huge egos.

When you talk to a Christian, they do not need to jump in a box and pop up a whole bunch of assumptions on why God exists. They know He does and they simply want to tell you the great news that you have purpose and that are so loved that the God who created you, gave His life so that you can be free from sin and the yoke of your past mistakes. His blood cleanses all and clears all and His redemption and grace will change your life, just as it has changed so many before you.

To me it comes down to temptation. You see we are all tempted, and some will resist but other fall for temptation and when we are in sin’s grip we tend to lose a little rationality. Paul writes that we will never be tempted above our ability to resist it. Remember our resistance against temptation is also strengthened by our faith and the Holy Spirit that is in us. But to those that are worldly it is difficult especially when the world is more important than the truth. So, yes temptation and the desire to be god rather than excepting God’s existence can make one a little schizophrenic.

If you think about it this strategy by the enemy is one that he used right from the beginning. How did he convince Eve to eat the forbidden fruit? He told her she will be like God and that she will know everything – “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”

To be honest this whole concept has been the fall of man right from the beginning. Unfortunately, so many still fall for it and so many are to arrogant to accept the errors of their ways, but did we not see this example in so many other in history. That is why Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
