A reminder for
today
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is
given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)
When Jesus says: All power is given unto me in heaven and
in earth, what does that mean to
you? Then He continues to say that we should go forth and teach all nations and
baptizing them. So, this is my thoughts around this. Jesus is God and we know
this. I have spent some time in previous blogs running through the deity of Jesus
Christ and why I say He is God. Jesus reminds us here that all power and authority
is given to Him and with this He wants us to go out and save His children. He is
the one who will guide you and strengthen you and He states that He will be
with us always and even to the end of the world.
His power over heaven
and earth confirms His return and the end of evil and the final judgement. With
this Jesus will give us the ability to heal and to drive out evil in His name.
His sacrifice for us will save us from the wrath that is to come, but His words
compel is to carry His sacrifice and His gospel to all the nations of the world.
Note that Jesus said “all nations” this means everyone regardless race,
culture, group, length, width, weight and whatever else people discriminate on.
Jesus also says
that we should baptise them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of
the Holy Ghost which brings in a whole the complete trinity of God and saves
them similar to the blood of the lamb in the days of Moses when God sent the
Angel of Death for the first born of each home. The blood of Jesus is the very
blood that saves us from the final judgement and the destruction of this world.
His power over
heaven and earth is a comfort for us and an indicator of His authority. It is a
compass of light that makes us bold and fills us with courage. It is the drive
force that sends us into danger to share the gospel. It is the promise we have
in eternity and the peace of sins forgiven and a life reborn. Jesus ends by saying
that He will be with us always and this is something I experience on a daily
basis as I am comforted by His Holy Spirit in my challenges and the uncertainties
of what awaits us. He is my God, my savoir and my all.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
