Today Reminder (No Fear) – 31 October 2018

A reminder for today

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)

There is no fear in love. Fear is one of the best methods the enemy uses to get to us. What do we fear? We fear rejection, failure, job loss, pain, income issues, debt, hurt, tomorrow, stature, not being good enough, not being careful enough, mistakes and are we able to make it.

The enemy has a huge list of things he uses to confuse us and lead us away from the Bible and into destruction. It is our worldly nature that hampers our perception and influences our understanding of what Jesus promises in His Word. 

The enemy wants you to forget the Bible and focus on your problems and not on what God promises. You see we are so easily influenced by people and circumstances that we miss the whole point. God loves you and He will show the way and He will never leave you. When Jesus said that our Father will take care of us, He was dead serious, and God does. It is our fears and our worldly nature that drives us away from God’s promise and into sin. 

How do we cast away fear? John says that there is no fear in love. If you have fear you are not made perfect in love and to me that is God’s love. Although God loves you and will always be with you, you still have to choose. Now, do we choose out of fear or out of faith. If there is no fear in love and you love God with all your heart and all your soul, you will be made perfect in love and in that perfection lies fearlessness. 

It is when we lose focus and trust that we fall into fear. That is why I always say keep your eyes on the Lord and meditate on His word day and night. The word of God is part of the armour that keeps us from falling into fear and being misguided by the lies of the enemy. That is why we always say you can listen to everything but test everything and every word against the word of God and the word of God will reveal the truth. 

So, today I say fear not but love completely. Love the Lord our God with all your heart and all your soul and live fearless and listen to His word.

Today Reminder (Overcome) – 30 October 2018

A reminder for today

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21)

I must say I am tired today. This week kicked off with a huge speed and me running from one point to the next can be challenging. What can we say about life? When we look at life and the wonder of it we can easily see the hand of our creator in it. The enemy’s soul purpose is to blur that out so that you will see only the misery and pain and miss the glory of grace that is in it. We are here to overcome.

We know that God did not give us a Spirit of fear but one of power. We are not here to fall and remain fallen. We are here to stand and overcome and show God to the people that does not know Him. Our lives should be a testimony of His grace and mercy and love. Now one thing I am certain of is that my life is a clear example of God’s grace and mercy. 

Although we may stand in the midst of darkness and all that lives in it, we should look at the mountains, because where does our help come from. My help and my strength is from God who created the heavens and the earth. 

I have an almighty God that lives in me and I can do all things through Jesus Christ that strengthens me. I stand in the middle of my storms and I look at the enemy that is shouting out my mistakes and he tries to condemn me, and I simply smile for I know my destiny is written and my life is in the hands of my God. I know that I am saved and that the enemy will face persecution and end up in hell as God made it clear.

My journey may be hard now and filled with obstacles but the God that I worship will guide me through it and He will send people on my journey to help me and encourage me. 

I do not stand alone in this fight. I have God with me and I fear nothing that the enemy can throw at me. My God will never leave me, nor will He forsake me. He will lift me up and He will let me overcome all that lies ahead. He will show me that path and I will bring glory to His name.

Today Reminder (Moving out) – 29 October 2018

A reminder for today

For we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

So, my ex wife is moving out. On Friday I took all the appliances to her new home and connected them for her. Although I love to help people the whole experience was not nice at all. By this time, I thought that I would be ok, but it still hurts and to take the stuff over to her house was nice in the sense that I helped but at the end of the day the process whirled through my head leaving my mind in turmoil. It is not nice and if could change it I would so in an instant.

But enough of my complains and back to reality. My whole experience reminded me that we walk by faith. You see charity and caring, and loving other is one of the most important parts of being a Christian. We know that without love we are nothing, because God is love. This unexplainable love of our Creator is beyond our comprehension when we are measuring it by world standards. God’s love is incomparable to any other and to love like He does can be the hardest part of life. 

But if we want to see change and see this world change, we must love, and we must pray. How can we expect change if we do nothing about it? Change starts with me and the best way to battle the enemy is on our knees. 

Now when we look at moving out. I like to use this picture as how we move forward. You see my ex wife moved out because she is unhappy. In life we seek our happiness through the world and the things of this world. Jesus made it abundantly clear that this world is a bottomless pit and you can fill it up with as much worldly stuff as you can get, but it will never make you happy. True happiness is in the name of Jesus Christ. Once we have accepted Him, we move out of our old life and into a whole new life of unlimited possibilities, because with God we can do all things. 

Therefore, as you walk by faith today, remember that true happiness is in Jesus and through charity. Love, forgive, help, listen, love some more, give and spread the gospel. Charity is the only way and through charity we will find more than just happiness. We find meaning and purpose, because Jesus is our purpose.
