Today Reminder (Who to please) – 04 October 2018

A reminder for today
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10)

I woke up to a windy and very cold Pretoria. Suddenly the summer is gone, and winter is back. Confusing? Jip, very. First it rained yesterday and then came the cold. Sometimes life changes as extreme as the weather. One moment you are on top of the world and the next moment you are rock bottom. Now, I can tell you all about those sudden changes. I have seen them in my life many times.

One moment you think everything is fine and the next moment your world is pulled right from under you. Why does this happen? It all boils down to who we seek to please. Do we please man and by man, I mean man’s needs, man’s desires, man’s gods and man’s ideas? Or do we please God?

Jesus talked about the two paths. The easy one most will take and the difficult one few will follow. These resemble the path to heaven. To be a Christian is not easy and certainly not simple, but it depends on who you please. When we are Christians and we also want to please this world, we will have endless struggles, but when you seek to please God and only God you will find that the things that makes being a Christian hard, is actually not important anymore.

You see pleasing God is not so difficult, but the world in us that we do not want to let go will make it hard. Jesus said that His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. This is only so when you completely live for Him and you left the world behind you, because all we need to do is to believe in Him and live out our lives for Him.

Peer pressure and friends can play a vital role in our decision on who we will please. If your friends lead you away from Jesus, then maybe it is time for new friends. A friend/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend should be your soul supporter and your faith booster. They must be a soul friend and one that prays with you and prays for you.  They must support you in your faith and not pull your faith down.

Remember united we are much stronger than when we stand alone. You are not alone, my friend, you remain in my prayers.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
