Reflections of faith (The Wicked) – 5 March 2019

For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. (Psalm 11:2)

This world can be a desolate and lonely place. The enemy walks around looking for the lonely and the vulnerable to attack and destroy. The enemy will string their bow and fire at any time to hurt and destroy. We are the “upright” and we stand against the enemy in a daily battle. Being alone is a tough place to be. Sometimes we are surrounded by people, but we are still alone. Sometimes the battles we fight are so private that we are alone in the midst of it all. We try to look fine but inside we are in turmoil and destruction rages on. We walk with a smile, because the pain inside is so deep that we have no other expression to show. God loves the upright and the righteous. God looks down from His holy place and He sees the heart of each of us. He sees our pain, because He does not look at the picture everyone sees, He looks at the inside and He sees what we really struggle with. He is our place of safety and we are never alone as we face the arrows of the enemy. God will surround us with His safe hands, and He will pull us out of our pain and restore us. The wicked may think they have separated us from God, but nothing can pull us from God’s hands. The wicked may think they have defeated us, but we can do anything with our Lord. The wicked may think we are weak, but God is constantly strengthening us and preparing us. I may seem defeated, but I am far from giving up. I may seem broken, but the cracks you see is the light that shines from within me. I may be at war each day, but I am not losing this battle. I am what God says I am and He says I am His and I am forgiven and I am strong.

Have an awesome day.

I love you, my friend in Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
