A reminder for today

So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)

I thought to remind you again today of who you are and why you are so special. You are planned, designed and made in the image of God. That is why we are so unique and amazingly complicated. We are made in God’s image so there is no way that we can be simple and straight forward.

The very person that you are carries within your being a reflection of God. He made you and yes He made you to be a perfect reflection of His image.

So there is no way that you are not special and perfect in every way – you are, because you are created to be special. To be different and to stand out so that God can be proud of His creation.

Come and stand up, lift your head up and smile, because you are awesome. Let’s take on this day with a new look at who we are with confidence and determination as we glorify God’s image by being who we are intended to be – God’s children.

Today Reminder - 10 October 2012 (Just to remind you)

A reminder for today

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)

Driving home from work with my two boys in the car I could not help but to look at the wonders of God’s creation. The perfection in His work and the detail God placed in each creation. It is amazing how everything falls into place and everything continues to live in the ever changing circle of life.

The God that made all of this is the God that calls you friend. He is the God that stands by us through every day and through every situation that we face.

This amazing and all powerful creator is our God and wants us to spend eternity with Him. I have this need today to remind how great our God is. He is far greater that our imaginations can ever comprehend. He is and was will always be. 

Don’t forget this: Don’t tell God how great your problems are, but tell your problems how great your God is.

Today Reminder - 09 October 2012 (Just to remind you)

A reminder for today

Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

What is it that you fear on a daily basis? Where do you go to when the knots of your troubles tighten around your chest and you feel the last breath of courage forced from your veins?

I have so often stood at the bridge of despair looking out as the river of troubles rush by gushing against the sides and splashing water into my face. I feel that I have to remind you again that the fear we have from our worldly problems is easily extinguished in the hands of our Lord. 

When I am discouraged and weak from the burdens this life so easily loads on us, I seek my refuge in the arms of the Lord and here I lay my troubles to rest as I renew my trust and ignite the flame of His mercy and grace. I am more, because He is indescribable and unfathomable that saved my life.

The strength that we get from God is unmatched and everlasting. Do not seek your help on your own, but seek Him first and then all will be revealed.

Today Reminder - 08 October 2012 (Reminding you)

A reminder for today

But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the Lord. He went down to the port of Joppa, where he found a ship leaving for Tarshish. He bought a ticket and went on board, hoping to escape from the Lord by sailing to Tarshish. (Jonah 1:3)

Have you ever been invited to a place that you do not want to go to? It happens so often in our lives when we are invited to a party, and on the day we don’t want to go. We would think of a thousand other places we would rather be, than going to this party. Once you are there you would find that you are actually enjoying it, and coming was not such a bad thing after all. 

In life we are often placed in situations we do not want to be in or we wish we were never there. I think almost every day we would find ourselves in an uncomfortable place or about to do something we are not comfortable with. God places us strategically in certain places every day, and each time you have the opportunity to show His light and be His ambassador. Do you take the responsibility serious or do you just wait for the time to pass?

Sending Jonah to Nineveh saved the lives of many people and also taught Jonah a great lesson. Sending you into that boardroom or giving you that call or going to that party or wherever and whatever the situation is – you can save a life.

Today Reminder - 05 October 2012 (Five power days)

Five power verses – Day 5

My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Here I am Lord, living and breathing for you. I am no longer the person I was, but instead I am a new me, a “me” filled with you. My old self have died as you have died and a new “me” was raised from the dust of the old “me” just as you rose from the grave. 

I live each day trusting you knowing that you gave your life for me and that I am free from any and all accusations the enemy can make against me. You call me friend and therefore I will be a true friend for you living for you and loving you with a joyful heart.

There is nothing that can separate us form the love of Jesus and nothing can change the fact that He died for us. The enemy lost, and battle has been won. Therefore I will live for you alone oh Lord and live I will. 

I will live giving more of you to those I see and meet, to honour our friendship, and to share the great gift of your resurrection. I will live more each day so that in living I will glorify your name. I will live, because in living I will be able to show you wherever I go. I will live, because life is a gift…
