Today's thought - 31 May 2026

 


The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.

Hebrews 4:16 tells us, “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” This is a good reminder that Jesus calls His people to a life that is beyond their abilities. In our own strength, we cannot give, love or serve others as we should. We need God’s Holy Spirit and empowerment in order to do God’s will. 

We find that empowerment as we lean into the Lord through time in His Word, prayer, fellowship and walking in faith and obedience. The work the Lord has called us to isn’t easy and requires courage.

Nothing in this life is easy and there are many battles we have to face daily as we step into our full purpose and carry the gospel into our world. Here are a few scriptures that will encourage you in your journey:

Numbers 14:9 - Do not rebel against the LORD, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the LORD is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!

Joshua 1:9 - This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

Psalm 9:10 - Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O LORD, do not abandon those who search for you.

Psalm 20:7 - Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the LORD our God.

Psalm 37:3-5 - Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.

Psalm 40:4 - Oh, the joys of those who trust the LORD, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols.

Psalm 56:3 - But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.

Psalm 112:7 - They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them.

Psalm 143:12 - In your unfailing love, silence all my enemies and destroy all my foes, for I am your servant.

Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Isaiah 2:22 - Don’t put your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath.
What good are they?

Isaiah 26:4 - Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD GOD is the eternal Rock.

John 14:27 - I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Hebrews 13:6 - So we can say with confidence, “The LORD is my helper,
so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?

Psalm 91:1

 


Today's thought - 30 May 2026



Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Where do you find peace when all things seem to fall apart? When the noise of all the troubles becomes too loud to bear?

Today I was thinking of Jesus when He said in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest”.

I keep coming back to this battle for my daughter and the emotional stress that comes with it. Honestly, I would never have been able to get this far nor keep standing if it was not for our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit that carries me each day as my battles increase and my burden some days seem impossible to carry. In this scripture Jesus gives us an offer of peace, relief, and a promise that you do not have to carry your emotional, spiritual, or physical burdens entirely on your own. God is for you, therefore nothing can be against you.

It has been a long day and some days I am exhausted emotionally and spiritually as I continue my battle. This morning I decided to take food to the guys on the street as the Holy Spirit placed it on my heart after a very hectic week. I felt Him telling me to lead them into the Lord’s prayer for salvation and I did. I guess the enemy did not like the idea, but every fight I fight for my Lord is worth it and I will continue to do so.

I asked them this question: “If you die today or tomorrow where are you going to? Heaven of hell?”. I explained to these guys that life is very short and anyone of us can die any minute and in this life there is nothing more important that Jesus Christ. So, yes regardless of all the things I face and go through I live in the shelter of our Lord and I find my rest in Him.

91 Days of Victory – Day 91 (2026/05/29)


Among all this people were seven hundred select men who were left-handed; every one could sling a stone at a hair’s breadth and not miss (Judges 20:16).

This morning I want to tell you there is power in you. Power that is unimaginable and beyond our own thinking. Power that can move mountains, change a diagnosis, open doors, heal people, raise the dead, break addiction, break strongholds, alter verdicts and break barriers. There is power in you that will calm a storm, make a path in the wilderness, bring forth springs in a desert and make dead things come to life.

We are reading Psalm 91 on our last day of 91 days of victory and if you have allowed the Holy Spirit to open the scriptures and fill you with His presence you would have already seen victory, but if you jumped in half way or later it does not mean the 91 days end today, it merely means that we are now entering into understanding our walk with the Holy Spirit and the power that is in us.

My dear friend, the Holy Spirit picked verse 13 and I am adding Judges 20:16 to this as He had revealed to me in our morning homecell. Firstly, God says that you will trample on lions and cobras and crush fierce serpents and lions. Now I want to take you to Ephesians 6, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places”.

Now we know that our battle is against the forces of hell and their leader satan. This morning I am reminding you of your power and of your authority through the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ and through the Holy Spirit. You are a warrior in every part of the word. Put on the armour of God and step into today with me regardless of what we face because He who is in us is greater than all the powers of darkness. You are like one of those men in Judges that can sling a stone and not miss. Your stone is in fact a sword, the Word of God. If I can only teach you this one thing then nothing will ever get you down. The Word of God is a living breathing book that empowers you and fills you with courage and strength and wisdom and understanding. If you fill your spirit man/woman with the Word of God each day you will most surely move mountains and change the outcome of all attacks and every bad situation.

My dear friend, satan lost the fight and he has no power over you. The blood of Jesus sets you free and sets you above. You will trample on the enemy even in his fiercest attack and you will rise victorious by the blood and the power of the Holy Spirit.

I love you my friend, you are not alone. You have unlimited power in you and if you have not been baptised in the Holy Spirit then just ask Him and He will or say after me. Lord Jesus, I have given my life to you, and I have accepted you as my saviour, now please baptise me in the Holy Spirit and awaken in me your gift of tongues so I can bring glory to my Abba Father. I thank you for this amazing gift in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

91 Days of Victory – Day 90 (2026/05/28)

 


Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.

The word brevity has two primary applications, both stemming from the Latin word brevis meaning "brief". In other words, the writer of this Psalm wants us to comprehend the fact that life is short, and we should not waste it but grow in it. He specifically mentions wisdom.

Now when we look at wisdom I have written to you about it previously, but I would like to emphasise Proverbs 9:10, “Fear of the LORD is the foundation of wisdom”. Now we know this fear is not hiding under your bed fear, it is the reverent fear of God out of respect.

Growing in wisdom means growing in knowledge of God and directly growing in respect for God. So, what I am trying to say is that the more time we spend with God, the more we get to know Him, the more we grow in wisdom and the more we grow in respect (fear) of the Lord.

Out of this stream two very important facts and I want to remind you again of them. 1) Gaining knowledge of God means reading His Word. This is the manual into understanding and knowing God more intimately and 2) Your relationship with the Holy Spirit which is vital to your growth in faith and in power. Remember when the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles in Acts, they received power which in turn made them bold to go into the world and preach the gospel, but it also gave them power that flows through them into the people around them.

An important example is in the book of Acts when the man asked them (Peter and John) for alms, Peter looked at him intently and famously said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."

Now in this moment Peter grabbed the man by his hand and pulled him up and he was healed. Now Peter knew that Jesus said we would do greater things than what Jesus did when the Holy Spirit is in us. He stepped into faith with the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit and this man was healed.

Now the same power that raised Jesus from the dead resides in us, thus the same power that healed this man is in us and the same power is what we receive when the Holy Spirit enters us. This power is not an on and off switch that we have which we can use as we please. This power comes from a diligent and close walk with the Holy Spirit knowing Him, hearing Him and acting on His guidance. This comes from spending time in God’s Word, prioritising Him and putting Him first.

My dear friend, life is short so do not waste it away on worldly things and fears but give your time to God and the things of heaven and you will live a life of abundance even when life turns against you for in you is unlimited power, you just need to apply it correct and the Word of God is the first and most important step.

91 Days of Victory – Day 89 (2026/05/27)

 


Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.

I am thinking about our Lord Jesus Christ this morning and how He did not stop, but went through the arrest, the beatings, the torture, the accusations, the lies, the hate, the embarrassment, the abandonment and finally the cross. He did not stop it although He had more than enough reason to call on heavens armies and stop it, yet He knew the bigger picture and the love He has for this world and each one of us.

We complain when we have an injury or when someone cuts us of on our way to work or when someone steals from us. Every day I think of my burden and the lies I have been attacked with and the allegations that to this day has no proof except the manipulation of a very relentless enemy. I can only think that if my one burden feels like this, how does the whole world’s sin feel like and the sin of those not yet born. How does it feel when all of this is thrown on one man and in this, He must still deal with the insults and hatred of the very people He is dying for. Imagine this and then look at your problems.

Despite this my verse says that His love lasts forever and His faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens. So, I am telling you this morning that you can believe the following:

Your enemies will not defeat you.

The wicked will not have power over you.

God will beat down your adversaries and whatever the enemy is trying to steal from you.

God will destroy those who hate you.

God’s faithfulness and unfailing love will be with you.

And the authority you have will grow in power because it is not by power or by might but by the power of the Holy Spirit.

God will never leave you or forsake you and if He is for you who can be against you.

Come with me as we remember that this is a day that the Lord has made so we will rejoice and be glad in it for we can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens us.

91 Days of Victory – Day 88 (2026/05/26)

 


My eyes are dim with grief. I call to you, LORD, every day; I spread out my hands to you (Psalm 88:9 NIV).

As this case with my daughter seems to get more and more intense, I am drawn closer to God as I literally cry out to Him to come to my rescue and to let the truth come out. Apparently, cases like this are common where one of the parties attack the other by using the children as the means to “get back” at the other person for whatever reason. In my case I am still not sure what exactly that reason is and why we are where we are.

It is quite a burden, and I can tell you not a nice one. I do not know if you have ever heard or used the phrase “under the circumstances” and then whatever goes with that like I am well or it is fine. This morning I want to tell you that you are under nothing in this world especially circumstances. When we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and saviour and we decided to follow Him we moved from a worldly person to a Christ centred person and in that we are granted the same authority that God gave to our Lord Jesus Christ.

So, no you are not under circumstances, you have authority over your circumstances in Jesus Christ. It is what we say and do that places us in authority or under circumstances. It is the words we use that either breaks strongholds or creates them.

This morning I want to leave you (and me mainly) with these scriptures, and I want you to say them out load and to repeat them as often as you can today.

1.  Det 31:8 - "The LORD himself goes before you; He will be with you; He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged"

2.  Isaiah 45:2 - "I will go before you and level the mountains; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron".

3.  Romans 8:11 – “And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you”.

4.  1 John 4:4 – “But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world”.

5.  Isaiah 54:17 – “But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you”.

6.  Psalm 37:3 – “Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper”.

7.  Psalm 37:4 – “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires”.

8.  Psalm 37:5 – “Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you”.

9.  Psalm 37:6 – “He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun”.

10. Psalm 37:7 – “Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him   to  act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked  schemes”.

My dear friend, read them, meditate on them, remember them and believe them for Jesus said in Matthew 21:22, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer”. Stand on your authority and speak the Word “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword”.

91 Days of Victory – Day 87 (2026/05/25)

 


The people will play flutes and sing, “The source of my life springs from Jerusalem!”

When you read Psalm 87 you would think it is just a description of the city of Jerusalem and that it plainly depicts the writer’s love for the city and God’s love for His people. The Holy Spirit puts the word “Belonging” in my mind this morning as I look at this Psalm and I believe it goes hand in hand with our 91 days of victory.

In essence this Psalm tells how all people have the right to be citizens of heaven – “Regarding Jerusalem it will be said, “Everyone enjoys the rights of citizenship there.” And the Most High will personally bless this city” (verse 5). The writer lists traditional enemies of Israel - Egypt (Rahab), Babylon, Philistia, Tyre, and Cush. God declares that people from these nations (all nations) will be born again spiritually, officially registered as citizens of Zion.

Now coming back to belonging. I love my church and what it has done for me, and two boys has been amazing. It is in our church that I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit for the first time like never before. It drove me to a desire to learn more, know more and experience more of the Holy Spirit. I asked for more of Him and less of me and as I read books and studied on the Holy Spirit, I came to know Him for the loving kind and amazing person of God He is.

He is always there guiding, helping and teaching me. If it was not for Him and His love and strength and guidance I would not have been able to face the many battles and still continue to face these battles daily. He is my councillor, my helper, my teacher and my hope when all looks lost and broken. He is a light to me feet and a lamp in the darkness I face.

Belonging is not just knowing you have a place in heaven. It is having a place on earth where you come together with fellow believers and worship the Lord. A place where you have a family that loves and care for you, a place where you are planted and where you serve the Lord. A place where you give your tithes, and you give of yourself. Your time, talent and treasure. We are already living in the kingdom of God and like our Pastor said on Sunday we are the aliens in this world because we are not of this world. We are mere travellers moving through this world to our home with our Lord Jesus Christ.

My dear friend, seek the kingdom of God above all else (seek the Holy Spirit) and its righteousness and all other things will be added. If you are not planted in a church, look for one where you experience the Holy Spirit and get planted. You are through Jesus Christ a citizen of heaven and I trust that the Holy Spirit will fill you with His presence and put you on fire for Jesus. For the time of our Lord’s return is close and it is so important that we reach the lost at any cost.

It is not by power or might that I remain standing every day. It is by the power of the Holy Spirit. You too will see this in your life, just ask Him.

91 Days of Victory – Day 86 (2026/05/24)

 


Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honour you.

Today is Pentecost Sunday. If you are unfamiliar with the significance of it, let me summarise - Pentecost Sunday is a major Christian festival celebrated 50 days after Easter. It commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem. It marks the beginning of the early church's global mission. 

According to the book of Acts, followers of Jesus were gathered in one place when a rushing wind filled the house and tongues of fire rested on each of them.  The Holy Spirit empowered them in this moment, and they turned from average people to people that boldly carried the gospel into the world regardless the consequences.

Now what does that mean for you and me. Today I believe that the Holy Spirit will manifest like never before. Our mission is to bring a wave of love into our world and to touch lives as far as we go, so I know that if you open your heart and allow the Holy Spirit to speak into your heart and touch your soul, you will feel a change in your life like never before. It will ignite a spark in you and set you on your journey in Jesus Christ.

This brings me back to Psalm 86, and I encourage you to read the whole one as I trust the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and speak to you. My verse is verse 11 and here David writes that God must teach us His ways so we can live according to the truth. Now remember Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me”.

This is the truth in which we must walk. The truth that we must allow the Holy Spirit to teach us. The truth that Jesus Christ is the son of God and He is the only way. This is the truth that we must live out, speak out and share wherever we go. So, that in this truth God will “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10).

Today my prayer for us is Psalm 86:17 – “Send me a sign of your favour. Then those who hate me will be put to shame, for you, O LORD, help and comfort me”. Send me Lord and open my eyes to the works of your hands and guide me so that I will do your will. Strengthen me to keep going and protect me from those who hate me. You are my God and I put all my trust in you. It shall be well for me and my house will follow the Lord our God.

91 Days of Victory – Day 85 (2026/05/23)

 


Truth springs up from the earth, and righteousness smiles down from heaven.

Today I am a bit late writing my blog, but the morning had its challenges. I was up early in the streets doing my street ministry and I think being out there seeing the need and the hurt that we miss can get to me some days. We live our lives in homes and a lot of the people in South Africa stay in estates that is closed of to the world outside and many of us miss what the world really looks like.

My heart is to give hope and to take Jesus to these guys and to get them to quit the drugs. I always say that nothing we do for Jesus is ever insignificant or not important. The smallest act out of obedience can move a mountain. So, always be aware of your surroundings and listen to the Holy Spirit. There is so much need in this world and sometimes that need is just a person who listens or a heart that shows love.

Love is one of the most powerful tools we have and to show love and kindness in a world where it is taken for granted is a game changer.

This brings me back to my scripture in Psalm 85, “Truth springs up from the earth”. The funny thing is in all that is happening to me currently with all the lies and allegations based on more lies, the one thing I so desire is for the truth to come out. What is truth in essence? According to the dictionary Truth is the property of being in accord with fact or reality. It generally refers to statements, beliefs, or thoughts that accurately reflect the way things actually are.

I love that part – “actually are”. I do not know about you, but deceit really upsets me and when someone falsely accuses someone, it gets me worked up. People actually do not fear God and in the Bible, depending on your translation, the phrase “fear God” comes up over a hundred times. I have written about this before but just to remind you when I say “fear God” I do not mean go hide in a cave somewhere and never show your face. It simply refers to the healthy fear of God as pure respect for who He is and what He can do. Jesus said, “Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell”.

I guess what I am trying to say is that when we fear God correct, we will strive to obey His Word and live our lives righteously according to His will. People can lie and alter the truth, but God sees everything. In my desire for the truth to come out I feel the Holy Spirit say that in our battles and in our challenges, truth will jump out from the very earth that knows the lies. Truth will be known and righteousness will smile from heaven as God steps in and opens the doors. God will let the truth be known and He will destroy the lies for no weapon that is formed against us will prosper and God goes before us and He will be with us, and He will never leave us. So, do not be discouraged or afraid, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And He will hear from heaven and heal our land.

91 Days of Victory – Day 84 (2026/05/22)

 


A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.

I love this Psalm and today I guess it has a deeper meaning than ever before. We journey this life and each day has its challenges and sometimes those challenges can really be a serious bump in our path. I woke this morning realising that my journey is going to be tough, and the enemy does not attack things that he likes, he attacks the thing he does not like. It dawned on me how important the things are that God placed on my heart and how much satan must hate it.

In the last two years I started writing this blog again after my first divorce and all the battles I faced in my second marriage, and I realise that I touch so many lives each day because thousands read my blog and I did not even realise it until a few weeks ago. Then I have the prayer groups at work, my street ministry and homecells. Each of these is simply because I said, “Here I am, Lord, send me”.

Ever since then I have been accused of the most horrible things. A criminal case was opened against me stating I molested my daughter and I have been fighting this battle for almost a year and it seems as if it just gets harder. Every good thing seems to take two steps back. So, I realised the more I commit to the Lord and the calling to spread the gospel the more intense the attacks.

It reminds me again and again today of these words Jesus said in Matthew 16 - Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works”.

When we follow Jesus and we take up our cross we will face many battles, and the enemy will do anything in his power to stop that. I wrote to you a few days ago on lukewarm Christians and that we must be on fire for the Lord.

Today I say and speak this “A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else”. A single day working and doing what God asks us to do is better than all the money and possessions in this world. Even if I have to walk through this valley every day, I will do so for God is for me and who can be against me. He who is in me is much, much greater than he who is in this world. My prayer is simply this, “When they (me and you) walk through the Valley of Weeping (challenges), it will become a place of refreshing springs (a place of joy and praise). The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings (God will reign in it all and we will be set free and we will have victory)”.

91 Days of Victory – Day 83 (2026/05/21)

 


O God, do not be silent! Do not be deaf. Do not be quiet, O God.

Psalm 83 is an urgent prayer for God to rescue Israel from a coalition of hostile neighbouring nations conspiring to annihilate the nation. Writen by Asaph, the psalm is an imprecatory prayer—a call for God’s divine justice and judgment upon enemies.

Now there are three main parts that we can look at

Part 1. The Conspiracy (Verses 1-8)

The psalm opens with a plea for God to stop being "silent" while enemies plot. It lists ten ancient groups (such as Edom, Moab, the Ishmaelites, and Assyria) that have formed a confederacy. Their explicit goal is to destroy Israel entirely so that its name is "remembered no more."

Part 2. The Appeal to History (Verses 9-12)

The psalmist reminds God of how He previously delivered Israel from overwhelming odds. He references historical victories from the Book of Judges, such as the defeat of the Midianites (Gideon) and the rout of Sisera and Jabin. The logic is simple: God defended His people in the past, and He can do it again.

Part 3. The Plea for Justice (Verses 13-18)

Asaph asks God to scatter the current enemies like "chaff before the wind" and let them experience the overwhelming force of divine justice.

While the psalm asks for destruction, its ultimate purpose is theological. The writer concludes that the humbling of these enemies is to reveal the Lord's supreme sovereignty: "That they may know that You alone, whose name is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth." (v. 18)

It serves as a reminder that God controls the destiny of all nations and protects His people even when surrounded by seemingly impossible threats.

Now there is a bit of an eschatological Interpretation. In modern prophetic eschatology (the study of end times), some biblical scholars interpret Psalm 83 as a prophecy of a future, end-times coalition of Middle Eastern nations that will attempt to attack and conquer modern-day Israel.

What do we take from this? I want you to remember no matter the difficulty we face God is always there in the midst of it all to help us and to pick us up from the mud and the mire. God is working to make all things work out for good even when we can’t see it. We must live each day knowing the Lord will return soon and that we steer away from the things that will keep us from God and desire the things that pulls us closer.

Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. We are reading Psalm 82 and in essence it serves as a divine critique of corrupt leadership. Leaders are appointed by God and placed in these positions by the Lord. What they do with that responsibility boils down to their choices and decisions they make.

It is imperative that we honour our leaders even is they are corrupt or bad. Romans 13:1-2: Instructs us to be subject to governing authorities, noting that "there is no authority except that which God has established."

1 Peter 2:17: Commands us to "Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honour the emperor". (Written during the reign of Roman Emperor Nero, showing that honour is expected regardless of a leader's righteousness.) 

These scriptures are best understood alongside teachings of humility, such as Philippians 2:3, which tells us to "value others above yourselves". Biblical submission and honour are generally practiced within the boundaries of following God's commands, as leaders ultimately answer to Him for how they shepherd those under their care.

This brings us back to Psalm 82 and in context it connects us to the New Testament (John 10:34–36), where Jesus quotes Psalm 82 to defend His claim as the Son of God. He uses the psalm's premise - that humans who received God's word and authority were called "gods" - to argue that His own claim to be God's Son is valid and consistent with the Hebrew Scriptures. 

Now, when leaders are bad or wicked we should remain respectful towards them, but we can lay our concerns before God and ask Him to guide our leaders in their tasks and decisions. Ultimately God can remove any leader or person from their position of authority when He wants. We as Christians must remain obedient to the Word and honour our leaders regardless. Honouring our leaders creates spiritual growth, peace and shows respect to God’s established order and in this lies a reward in our own growth and what God commands us to do. That also has a reward in our eternal life with the Lord.

My dear friend, we must honour our leaders and respect them and then we will see God’s hand upon them and in our own lives.

91 Days of Victory – Day 81 (2026/05/19)

 


But I would feed you with the finest wheat. I would satisfy you with wild honey from the rock. True worship goes beyond singing; it requires a heart that is yielded and obedient to God's word. Psalm 81 is a two-part psalm of Asaph designed for festival worship (likely the Feast of Tabernacles), focusing on themes of joyful praise, remembering God’s deliverance from Egypt, and an urgent appeal to abandon idols and listen to God. It contrasts God’s desire to bless and satisfy His people with the consequences of their disobedience and stubbornness. 

The Psalm has strong reminder to steer clear of idolatry and to know that God is the only God. It reminds us to place our trust in God and He will look after us. In verse 10 it states, “Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things”.

Now here is what the Holy Spirit wants you to see today. God is a God of salvation, and He is a jealous God. It is made clear to us in the ten commandments when God says, “You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods”.

Idolatry has many forms and here are some examples:

1. Literal and Physical Idolatry

  • Worship of False Gods: Worshipping pagan deities of surrounding nations, such as Baal, Ashtoreth, and Molech.
  • Image Worship: Fashioning and bowing to physical idols carved from wood, stone, silver, or gold, or crafting molten figures like the Golden Calf.
  • Host of Heaven: Worshipping celestial bodies, including the sun, moon, and stars.
  • Occult Practices: Seeking guidance from or worshipping through mediums, divination, or astrology (e.g., Deuteronomy 18:10-12). 

2. Spiritual and Subtle Idolatry

  • Covetousness and Greed: The New Testament explicitly equates greed and covetousness with idolatry (Colossians 3:5), because it places material wealth and cravings above God.
  • Self-Worship and Fleshly Desires: Making a "god" of your own physical appetites or desires (Philippians 3:19).
  • Syncretism: Attempting to blend the worship of the true God with the practices and idols of surrounding worldly cultures. 

3. Cultural and Relational Idolatry

  • Trusting in Human Power: Depending on military might, political alliances (e.g., trusting in Egypt rather than God), or human leadership rather than God’s provision.
  • Worldly Power and Prestige: Elevating status, fame, and secular power to a place of ultimate importance in your life. 

These are the pitfalls in life that steer us away from God and sometimes they are small in our eyes but not in God’s eyes. My dear friend, the Holy Spirit wants to remind us that we should take our relationship and our worship with God very serious. The time of the Lord’s return is coming, and we should not be like the five virgins who was waiting for the bridegroom but was unprepared for his arrival. While the foolish virgins are away, the wedding begins and the door is shut. When the foolish ones return, they are locked out and the bridegroom tells them he does not know them. Because no one knows the exact day or hour of Christ's return, we must stay spiritually vigilant and maintain our faith and our hope. This cannot be borrowed from someone else. It must be from our own obedience and desire for more of our Lord and God.

91 Days of Victory – Day 80 (2026/05/18)

 


Strengthen the man you love, the son of your choice. Psalm 80 is a heartfelt communal lament, likely written during a time of national crisis (such as the fall of the Northern Kingdom) to ask God to restore, Shepherd, and protect Israel, depicted as a damaged vine. Its central theme is a plea for revival through God's grace, highlighted by the recurring refrain: "Turn us again to yourself, O God. Make your face shine down upon us.
Only then will we be saved” (NLT).

The verse that stood out today is 17 where the writer says that God must strengthen the man (woman) He loves. Today I am writing to you but I think mainly to myself. As time progress we have our ups and our downs. It is a daily thing as the enemy remains relentless in his attempts to get us to fail or fall or lose hope.

We have our battles and some days we have many little foxes (as they call them) that tries to alter our mindset or our direction. So, as the Psalmist writes “Strengthen the man you love” I am turning to God, humbled by His grace and mercy, to give me and you the strength to continue. To face the attacks and the battles we have. To stand strong and to finish the race. To be of good cheer and to find our joy in the Lord our God. To continue to seek Him and to stay on our course and obey His commands.

As this Psalmist writes that God is the shepherd I am reminded by the words of Jesus, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep”. Here in John10 Jesus refers to Himself as the good shepherd that will not run when a wolf attacks like a hired hand. His sheep knows His voice and they know Him. In other words, God says that He will never leave us nor forsake us and if He is for us who can be against us. When the enemy comes to destroy, He will not run away but He will step in and protect His flock. He has already given His life for us, so why would He stop now.

My dear friend, we do not worship a mediocre God. We worship the creator of heaven and earth. Do not be dismayed but in all things give praise to God and trust His will and His way. Seek His voice and listen when He directs you. All things will work out for good, because He came to give us life.

91 Days of Victory – Day 79 (2026/05/17)

 


Help us, O God of our salvation! Help us for the glory of your name. Save us and forgive our sins for the honor of your name. This morning I am thinking of people that are new to our faith or newly restored. When we encounter Jesus Christ, our lives change and we become a new person. Transformed from our old way of life into a new way of living and thinking. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 3, “So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord - who is the Spirit - makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image”.

You see we are transformed not just once but it is a daily process. We are transformed from a worldly type of living into a Jesus type of living. Now when I say a daily process I mean we should not think once we have given our lives to Jesus, we are now in the clear. Now the enemy knows a new Christian can be an easy target, even someone who renewed their life for Jesus can sometimes still be an easy target.

I have written to you before on how important your relationship with the Holy Spirit is. Look what Paul writes in Romans 8, “Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God”.

The only way we can overcome our sinful nature, resist the devil and please God is through the Holy Spirit. It is by committing time in His Word and in prayer. It is walking in a day-by-day relationship with the Holy Spirit. It is by renewing our minds on a daily basis through scripture and finally by faith in Jesus and trusting Him in all things.

It is by our faithful seeking and our obedience in His Word that we are transformed not just once, but every day. It is by living like this that we find true peace and power in the Holy Spirit, to stand when facing impossible odds and to continue in the midst of our storms. It is by this that we will receive the reward for running the race to the end.

My dear friend, I know sometimes all of this can be difficult and some days it feels impossible. Believe me we all face days like that and days where we just do not want to do anything. It is in these times when you are at the end of your rope and you are tired and you do not feel like this, that we must above all turn to God. It will calm your heart, align your goals and set you back on your path.

I just want to say this to you today – I know what it feels like, I know how tough things can be and I know how hard life can be, but I also know how amazing God is. How wonderful His love is and how He can take all that was intended to destroy us and turn it around. I know the pit is deep and I know how heavy guilt can be. That is why Jesus said come to me all who are heavily burdened. Come to me when you can not go on. Come to me when you heart is broken. Come to me when the doctors give you the bad news. Come to me for I have come to give you life and life in abundance.

Come with me today as we lay our lives at the altar and just seek Him with all our hearts and trust Him in all that we do.

91 Days of Victory – Day 78 (2026/05/16)

 


But all they gave him was lip service; they lied to him with their tongues. Their hearts were not loyal to him. They did not keep his covenant. We are reading Psalm 78 and these verses just stood out this morning. It reminds me of 1 Samual 16:7, But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart”.

My dear friend, we have looked at Hannah and David and how they chose to go to God with their troubles and once they gave it to Him, it was settled and they trusted Him for the outcome. In this world we will always have three kinds of Christians, warm, lukewarm and cold. The first is the Hannah/David kind that is on fire for Jesus and walks each day working (fighting) to obey God and follow His Word and His voice, the second are the ones as we see in Psalm 78:36-37, that gives lip service. Their outer look and the things they say makes people believe that they follow Jesus, but it is mere lip service and an image they try to project, yet their hearts are empty and wicked. Then the last group are those who either rejected God and became atheists or those who follow other gods or idols.

I want to turn your focus to Revelation 3:16, So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Now this is quite an eye opener. God is not just saying He does not like lukewarm Christians, He says He will vomit them out of His mouth. I have this image of something that made you sick and your entire body now rejects this, and, in its defence, it causes you to throw up and vomit this out in an attempt to rid the body of it and restore you. This is not a nice reaction and at some point, we all were sick, so I am sure you know how it feels. In essence I get the idea that a lukewarm Christian kind a makes God sick to the stomach.

It is important that we refrain from becoming passive in our walk with God to protect us from becoming lukewarm, but in all things seek the Kingdom of heaven and its righteousness above all else. It is vital that we seek the Holy Spirit and His council and comfort, and steer clear of worldly solutions and continue to focus on things above and not on material things.

Remember what Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”. So, treasure your time with God and your time in the Word. Treasure His guidance and His will. Treasure His love and His mercy and treasure His kingdom, for life is but a mere moment.

Meditate on these verses from John 15 and let the Holy Spirit make it part of your life – “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing”.

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you”.

91 Days of Victory – Day 77 (2026/05/15)

 


You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. I wrote to you about Hannah yesterday and how she restraint herself from turning to the world, but instead she turned to God. In the same manner David used the same principal in his life. When the woman and children was captured by the Amalekites David was greatly distressed and he turned to God. In 1 Samuel 30 we read, “But David found strength in the LORD his God” and then he inquired of the Lord what he must do. It seems simple but so many will not turn to God first and seek their strength in Him. When the world comes collapsing down on you, I want to actually share a five-point plan with you that we see in scripture. Now keep in mind both Hannah and David refused to allow the negative words of people (the world) to impact them, both turned to God and both after they went to God acted on faith. Hannah was sad no more and stood on God promises, David went and defeated the Amalekites. How do we even begin to do this, here is my advice as per the Holy Spirit. Also note, this is a daily thing. Do it every day. 

1.)Renew your mind. Romans 12:2 says “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will”. Here we see by allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us and renew our minds and thoughts we will be able to see or hear God’s will.  

2.)Put on a new self. Ephesians 4:23-24 says, “to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness”. After you ask for renewal of your mind, embrace the new self that the Holy Spirit creates in your spirit and allow Him to speak into your life all day. In other words, when you receive transformation allow the Holy Spirit to guide you as you step into your day and run from negativity. 

3.)Take captive your thoughts. 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”. Now once we have been transformed and renewed, we now take captive our thoughts by not allowing negative words to impact us. Steer clear of negative people and even our own thoughts must be filtered so that we hear, think and speak life and not negative dead words, because that a man thinketh, he is.

4.)Focus on the good. Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things”. Think that basically says it. 

5.)Have an eternity mindset. Colossians 3:2 says, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things”. Focus on God, on being obedient. Focus on His Word and the promises in it. Focus on who God is and what He can do. Focus on what lies ahead not what lies behind. Focus on heaven and life in eternity with Jesus and not on the decay of this world. Focus on what God has done already, be grateful and listen to that still small voice and praise God for what He is going to do. Stand on it and believe it. 

My dear friend, try this basic example every day and every day you will experience growth in faith, increase in peace and abundance in Christ. Have an awesome day.

91 Days of Victory – Day 76 (2026/05/14)

 


Oh, thank you, sir!” she exclaimed. Then she went back and began to eat again, and she was no longer sad. Hannah was not able to have children and her husband’s other wife, Peninnah, taunted her year after year. This caused her a lot of sorrow even to the point where she did not eat. Even though her husband loved her very much, she felt worthless because she could not have children. Hannah went to the Lord and with a broken heart she brought her deep anguish to God. Eli who was close by saw her and thought she was intoxicated and rebuked her. Instead of retaliating she honoured him as the prophet and explained her deep grieve. He in turn blessed her and when she got up, she walked away not being sad anymore. In essence I want to point out a few things. 1) She was ridiculed for her inability to do something 2) She did not complain to the world or her husband, she took it in prayer to God 3) Even when confronted she remained humble and respected other. There is a deep message in her actions because she did not remain in her despair, but she took it to God. She did not look for worldly comfort but instead sought God’s help. After she gave it to the Lord she stood up in faith and trust in God knowing He is the God of the impossible and He will hear her prayer and change her circumstances. How many times do we complain about the smallest thing and how many times to we pray to God for help, yet we remain unhappy and we keep complaining. It reminds me of Jesus when He said in Matthew 17, Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me”. How often do we pray with no faith expecting God to be like MacDonalds and just jump at our order. My dear friend, when God moves (rises), He will judge the wicked and save the afflicted. He is always with us and He hears all our prayers, and He sees all that we go through. Why do we struggle with trust? Remember Pauls words where he said that he is contempt in abundance and in nothing. He rejoiced in his affliction because He knows God can change anything. Come with me today as we lay all our afflictions and troubles before God and as Hannah, when we stand up, we will not be sad anymore but instead rejoice in the Lord our saviour. 91 Days of Victory – Day 75 (2026/05/13)

 


We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds. You know we can all sit in a corner and cry about life. We can tell people about the incredible unfairness of it and how we have been delt the worst cards and our lives are just unbearable. Oh, how hard life is, in fact I am heading for the bottle right now, because I am fed up and I just can’t go on. Maybe that is a little extreme but believe me I hear this type of sadness in my office from time to time. The funny thing is that in most of these terrible painful stories the reason for it is simply decisions that people made. Simple choices that got them there and now they are shocked at the outcome. Now, please forgive me if I am sounding a bit emotionless here, I am getting to a point. I was asking the guys on the street why they are there and what type of work they did or can do. Now the sad thing is all of them said – drugs. They were doing well and then they tried the first thing and before they could help, they were addicted. 

These guys are on my heart, and I try to bring them something to eat when I work in this area and it is actually a sad truth that so many people lose so much because of drugs and alcohol in fact sin is purply there to destroy us. The thing is, they are stuck on the street because they have lost hope. They accepted the fact that they are not worthy of a better life and this is where they will live the rest of their lives. The truth is, this is a lie and the very lie the enemy feeds so many of us. I love Paul’s words in Philippians 4, “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

In other words, he is always content regardless if he has little or a lot or even nothing. Now, the world sells the need message. You need this and you need that and if it becomes too much to handle here is a pill or something stronger. Why? Because the enemy works with a jail sentence mentality and Jesus works with a life in abundance system. Why a jail sentence? It is simple the world tries to hook you with stuff you do not need, addictions and debt. When you are caught, they will use the one to open the other with the goal to destroy you and finally you could also end up losing everything. I have experience in this because through sin I lost my wife, my house, my kids and a lot of money. 

What is the difference between me and the guys on the street. Now I am not boasting about anything. The only thing I can boast about is God’s grace and His simple amazing promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Now in that I found redemption, because I turned to Him when I am at my end and nowadays basically all the time. It does not make me a walk on water Christian, it makes me accountable to God. 

So, when I fall, I go to Him, when I win, I go to Him, when I am sad, I go to Him and when I am lost, I go to Him. I put my hope and my trust in Jesus Christ, now in this lies the secret, because in Him we will have content in in that we will have abundance, because our focus is Jesus and not the world and then He will bless us increasingly and abundantly above all we can think or imagine. 

My dear friend, life may be hard, but I stand on these words that Jesus said: “Be of good cheer, for I have overcome this world”. Nothing will get me down for I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me even when I do not feel like it. Know this, you are able to do so much more because of He who is in you. 91 Days of Victory – Day 74 (2026/05/12)

 

Remember your covenant promises, for the land is full of darkness and violence! Psalm 74 has quite a sombre feel to it when you read it. The writer asks God to remember His people, and you will get the feeling that they are in turmoil. So, Psalm 74 is a community lament, most likely written after the Babylonian destruction of the Temple in 586 B.C., where the writer asks God why He has abandoned His people and pleading for Him to intervene against enemies destroying His sanctuary. It acts as a model prayer, combining deep sorrow with faith by recalling God's past, powerful acts as creator and saviour. Now we can be hopeless some days and this Psalm might not uplift your spirits today and yes; it may even bring more sadness to your day but let’s stop there for a moment and let the Holy Spirit show us something we are missing. Two things stand out 1) It teaches us to bring our complaints and suffering to God, basing our requests on God's character and promises rather than our personal merit, 2) The message in here emphasizes that even when God feels distant or silent, He remains sovereign and faithful. Now I want you to look at the two verses the Holy Spirit highlighted, “Both day and night belong to you; you made the starlight and the sun. You set the boundaries of the earth, and you made both summer and winter”. I think the point I am trying to make is that God is still God. He is the creator of all, and He holds the universe in His hands. Who am I that He thinks or me and who am I that He should be concerned about me and who am I that He seeks time and fellowship with me. I am but a mere man with more mistakes than any other, yet in His mercy He makes me more and, in my obedience, and desire for Him I become whole through His grace and His love. He is never far, He is always with me even when I am in darkness. This morning I do not want you to focus on the bad and the hurt and the problems and the trials you may face, but I want you to focus on the life-giving God that with a mere Word created everything. How much more can His Word change your life. Come with me today as we just allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, fill us and be with us. Talk to Him as much as you can for, He so desires your attention and time. Share it all with Him and let Him speak into your life today. My dear friend, remember all things will work out for good and God will take what is intended to destroy us and turn it into good. Just let Him in and let Him fill you with His peace and His love. It is going to be an awesome day. You are blessed, my friend and He who is in you is far, far greater than he who is in this world.

91 Days of Victory – Day 73 (2026/05/11)

 


But as for me, I almost lost my footing. My feet were slipping, and I was almost gone. Monday morning and my work looks like this mountain range that lies before me. It seems as if the project keeps getting bigger and bigger as it continues. So, you can imagine my frustration has two main sources because on the one hand this project and the scope of it is much bigger and more complicated than what I could anticipate. The battle for my little girl also seems to have no end as days turn into weeks and weeks into months. I wish I could just go to bed and when I wake it was just one terrible dream and it all is back to normal. Some days I am fine and some days I am not. I guess it is how our emotions have its ups and downs and as the enemy gets a blow in when I least expect it. I am not someone that will go sit in a corner and cry. I have always been a fighter, and I guess it had two outcomes. Sometimes it is good and sometimes it is not so good, but in essence I can stand when the storms come. Now this is not because I am strong, it is simply because some days I turn to God with all my troubles and let Him guide and strengthen me and some days I try it on my own - these days I fail always. Just as the Psalmist writes, “I almost lost my footing”, I actually do and then I need to go “back to the drawing board” and realign myself with my Father and with His Word and ask the Holy Spirit for help and obviously to forgive me for grieving Him – again. Today I pray this over us, my friend – “My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever”. Do not give up when the storms overwhelm you and do not lose hope. Come with me as we seek God and seek His wisdom and His guidance. Let us meditate on this scripture today and ask the Holy Spirit to make it part of us. Have an awesome day, my friend.
