Today Reminder (My spirit) – 4 July 2018

A reminder for today
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

It is a bit busy in my life at the moment as we juggle between work and the kids at home during the holiday time. I was working till late last night or maybe I should say I was struggling till late and finally I had a moment and my problem was resolved. It is in those aha moments that I see God’s hand so clearly in my life. Nothing I do I do because I am good at it, it is all God and His love and grace.

I love this verse. We walk through this life and we see these waves of challenges that just splashes over our daily lives and impacts our journey. This week I have gone from utter frustration to complete determination. I have had my fair share of software issues and I must say I was at a point where I thought my PC will make a nice kite.

I love it when God just proves me wrong so easily. I can get so irritated with struggling and I can hear the Holy Spirit reminding me to be patient, but no. Patience is for other people and then when all frustration ends it all falls into place. God is great all the time.

So, that brings me to the Spirit that God has given us. This Spirit is not of fear but of power. In you dwells a Spirit of power. It is the same Spirit that resurrected Jesus and the same Spirit that defeated death. It is this life changing, mountain moving, world creating breath of life that is in us. Now, why do we fear? We fear out of lack of faith. Remember what Jesus said in Luke 8 verse 25; And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

Where is your faith? My faith is in Jesus Christ and nothing else.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder (For a while) – 3 July 2018

A reminder for today
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. (1 Peter 5:10)

It is holiday time here and the kids are enjoying the rest. I am at home today and trying to work from home while also looking after two busy little boys. We have a friend visiting and there is great excitement with all the games and jokes. I am not a chaos person so the change in routine is taking some time for me to get used to. We have made a slight adjustment to our training program and I can feel the impact it has on my energy levels. Plus, it is suddenly very cold here in South Africa and I have been freezing all day while trying to get ahead with my work.

The sudden dip in temperature and the small amount of chaos in my life made this verse very clear today. You see, I have mentioned the end of time a few times before, but it has become evident that we are moving closer and closer into the final days.

Jesus said that after we have suffered for a while He will make us perfect and He will strengthen us. He will settle us and give us peace. You see God is calling us into His eternal glory, into His house and into eternity. For a while we will see difficult times and for a while we will suffer. This while may seem way to long for some, but when you have Jesus as your saviour it will not be about the sufferings, but about the days after that.

Do not let the fuel price increases or inflation or the constant worry of tomorrow continue to burden you. Jesus defeated this world already, so we have no need to fight the world we can just ignore it and keep our eyes and focus on Jesus. He will show you the way and He will give you what you need. Keep your faith and keep trusting God.

So, today I want to remind you that even though you might feel a bigger dent in your pocket from tomorrow on, you do not need to worry because with our God all things are possible and nothing we face is bigger than His grace.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder (Why do you believe) – 1 July 2018

A reminder for today
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:3)

I am in the eye of the storm and I am holding on to a pole in the ground as the wind roars and rushes around me. I can’t see a thing as the wind continues to pull at me trying to release my grip and pull me up into the darkness. I am afraid as I cling to the last bit of life and strength left in me. How am I going to make it? Why do I believe?

Do l believe because it is expected of a person that grew up in a Christian home? Do I believe because of all the facts and evidence I have as proof of the existence of my God? Or do I believe because of the direction my life is in?

My faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. My faith is the proof I see and the proof I have. My faith is the direction of my life and how God has taken me from where I was to where I am at now. My faith is not perfect, but my faith is growing. I believe mainly out of personal experience and the grace I have seen in my life.

I believe fully and completely in God and the fact that I have all the evidence of His existence does not outweigh the relationship I have with Him and the impact He has on my life. I believe not only because I know, but because I see. God is more real to me than the people in this world. He is the creator of all and the only one I believe in. He is my all.

I have seen how God changes people and how He can impact a life. When God enters people get purpose and direction like never before. My life has been given so much direction despite the amount of resistance the enemy brings. When I find myself in a place where I feel lost and defeated I can feel how He comes and picks me up again and renew me.

The wind continues to pull and jerk me as I cling to the pole for life. It is cold and wet as it started to rain. The storm seems to be eternal as my strength fades away. For a brief moment I opened my eyes and all I could see is the darkness that surrounds me. Even though I am broken and exhausted I keep holding on. Suddenly the wind stopped, and the rain was gone, and a rainbow surrounded me.

Jesus said He is the light in this world. We are often so overwhelmed by the world that we do not see the light. Often, we miss the light because we do not want to open our eyes and sometimes we miss the light because we are too tired. Sometimes we just need to be quiet for a moment and allow the Holy Spirit to do His work. Sometimes the rainbow is around us and all we must do is to know it is there.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
