Today Reminder – 23 June 2015 (Day 16 – Break the walls)

A reminder for today
Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help. Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. (Psalm 86:1-2)

My sister-in-law send me this Psalm the other day just as my storms seem to have found their peak. We all felt the pain when my Mom was attacked on the farm. It is amazing how the pain in the last few months that was intended to destroy me pulled me closer to my family. I suddenly realise that a part of that emptiness I felt was me missing them. I love spending time with my family; it is when you are with them that you can truly feel the warmth of God’s love.

David surely had a way with words. He wrote some of the most amazing psalms. I think his words carry so much weight because he wrote from the heart – God’s heart. That is why God said that David is man close to His heart. These verses are so awesome. I have so often looked up and asked the Lord to bend down and hear my prayer. I believe He will protect me and save me for I am devoted to Him. He is my God and I will follow His voice no matter how difficult the task.

It is amazing how God is touching people’s hearts. A friend came to me today and apologised for being angry at me for the mistakes I made. I was amazed at what God is doing. So today I wish to remind you, my friend, that God will bend down and answer your prayers. He will help you in your need and He will protect you.

Let us devote ourselves to Him and live our lives so that other will see His glory in us. Let us carry on with our battles so that people will be amazed at how God picks us up when we fall and restore us when we have lost our path. Let us step into our journey and live so that other can live to.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 22 June 2015 (Day 15 – Break the walls)

A reminder for today
When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. "Zacchaeus!" he said. "Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today." (Luke 19:5)

Yesterday when I went to church I enjoyed the sermon quite a lot. I was reminded again how Jesus was when He taught the people. You see Jesus never came here to please other; He came to save the lost. Jesus never cared what others thought of Him or who He spoke with. He is the Son of God and people crucified Him for it.

This reminded me of how I experienced people in past few months and how it felt to be called a hypocrite. You see I have often written to you that the words I write are not my own but those of the Holy Spirit. He is the inspiration in my words and the pictures that I paint for you to read. I am full of mistakes and most probably a greater sinner than most, but I am not going to turn my back on Him, because I struggle. Life is all about hardships and obstacles and we are not God so we are here to learn and live out our live with the lessons we learn each day. We are never too old to learn something new.

So today I want to remind you that you must not give up, my friend. Jesus believed in the worst of all and changed the lives of everyone He spoke to. Jesus showed people that He is the only way and those who accepted these words, their lives changed forever.

We will never be the same for we are not lost. We know the way, even when we fall we stand up holding on to Jesus.

Do not allow the words of people hurt you. Let the words of Jesus form who you are.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Today Reminder – 19 June 2015 (Day 14 – Break the walls)

A reminder for today
Then Jesus shouted, "Lazarus, come out!" And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, "Unwrap him and let him go!" (John 11:43-44)

This is a turning point in the teachings of Jesus. You see here Jesus not only spoke about resurrection, He demonstrated the power of following Him. Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?" (Verse 25-26)

Today I see us as we are in this grave of misery and heartache. We stand hidden behind a rock that separates us from life and pulls us in towards the darkness of death. Jesus is giving me this picture of how He stands on the other side of the rock and He is shouting “Come out!”

When we come out from behind our pain, He gently unwrap us taking away all the hurt and as He removes the cloths our bodies heal from within. He reminds us that He is the way and He is life. With Him we will live again and we will never die again.

These words are for you and me my friend: Jesus told her, "Your brother will rise again." (Verse 23)

My friend, you will rise again just as I will rise again and we will be renewed as we break the walls and push away the stone so that we can step out of the cave and into His light. Jesus gave me so much comfort today as He just calmed and reassured me all will be fine. We must stop worrying about tomorrow and focus on living each moment of each day. We are not bound by the boundaries of this world. Our God lives and with Him there is no boundaries. Leap forward my friend, for we will conquer all that comes our way.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Today Reminder – 18 June 2015 (Day 13 – Break the walls)

A reminder for today
Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am in distress. Tears blur my eyes. My body and soul are withering away. (Psalm 31:9)

I think the one thing that is the hardest for me is that I have no control over the outcomes of my storms. It feels as if my hands are tied and I have no way of changing the outcomes. I stand and stare at these mountains and I know that they can fall on me at any moment.

We look at this world and we struggle to understand that sometimes we must just accept and trust. We are overwhelmed by heartache and pain in such a way that it feels as if our very souls are melting away, breaking apart and broken beyond repair.

But I am trusting you, O LORD, saying, "You are my God!" (Verse 14)

I stand and watch as the winds howl past me and waves burst into a storm that shadows me. I stand and I call out your name Lord. I trust you, for you are my God. No pain shall break this spirit and no storm will drown this will. No challenge will rise that will defeat me and no burden will keep me fallen. I will stand up and shout out your name so that all who know me, friend and enemy, will hear I am yours and my faith and trust lies in you. I stand in victory and even death has lost its grip on me.

Love the LORD, all you godly ones! For the LORD protects those who are loyal to him, but he harshly punishes the arrogant. So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the LORD! (Verse 23-24)

Today Reminder – 17 June 2015 (Day 12 – Break the walls)

A reminder for today
"He will protect his faithful ones, but the wicked will disappear in darkness. No one will succeed by strength alone.” (1 Samuel 2:9)

How much pain can you take? How much hurt can we possibly tolerate? How long until we fall apart and break completely? Sometimes I think I am close to the edge of insanity. How much more storms will I be able to go through and how will I ever swim through this ocean that lies ahead of me. The hurt of not having my sons with me is almost unbearable at times and to add to that this past weekend just drowned me in this storm that I am fighting against.

My friend, these verses are for you and me. Our storms may seem unbearable and impossible to survive through, but why do we stand alone. I love these verses so much: He will protect his faithful ones, but the wicked will disappear in darkness. I think about my Mom that survived a brutal attack and how God protected her through it. I am in awe of the amount of miracles I saw this weekend yet I am broken when I look at all the pain that now twists and bends through my life like a never ending river.

No one will succeed by strength alone.

I am going to repeat that. No one will ever succeed on their own strength. I am broken and in pieces when I stand before you Lord. My world is in turmoil and I am struggling to keep my head above water. I look up to you and I reach out for your hand. Only you can free me from these chains and pull me from my watery grave. I am nothing when I stand alone, but with you I am invincible. Let me be invincible for you and for my children and let me rescue all that is lost with my testimony.
