A reminder for today

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies. (2 Corinthians 4:8-10)

We go through many challenges and obstacles each day. We face storms and we walk into danger. The enemy does not want us to flourish, he wants us to fail. I realised last week that the enemy is definitely working harder to bring me down and push me to failure. I got a terrible flu last week that peaked on Friday and over the weekend I faced a number of interesting challenges as the enemy uses people to attack me and try and force doubt in my mind. It ended on a high note when a bus basically drove over the front part of my car while it was parked in from of the gym. For a moment I was down and I was fighting to make sense of all of this. There was total chaos in my mind as I tried to put all of this in perspective. The worst thing we can do in a storm like this is to think we deserve it. This thought came up to me, because of the mistakes I have made the past few years, but God does not work like that. God is a God of love and He is not a God of hurt and pain. God will take any bad situation and turn it around for the glory of His name. So He can take our worst days and turn it into a day where the enemy will turn tail and run. 

We get knocked down but we are never abandoned. We walk through dark valleys yet we do not fear. When God is with us we can overcome anything. He will lift us up and He will never allow us to be tested above our abilities. So this storm that I am facing is one that will bring glory to God for the enemy did not win nor did he make me fall. Instead I am stronger for He that lives in me is limitless. 

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever. (Verse 16-17)

Lord we thank you for all your love and blessings over our lives and we give glory to you for you are so good to us. Let your name be glorified through every situation we face and through every challenge. Let us live for you. In Jesus name.

Today Reminder – 22 July 2016

A reminder for today

Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you. This "letter" is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts. (2 Corinthians 3:3)

The work that we do for the Lord will never be in vain. It is work that will be written in the hearts of people and shouted out by the glory of our Lord. It is this work that separates us from the crowd and set us apart from the average. We are more, because He that dwells within us is unlimited and all powerful. We must never feel that it is too little and that we are unable. It is the Spirit of God that enables us and every little bit helps to end the reign of the enemy over other.

So when you stand for Jesus and when you have to give up on what you want for the path that God has in mind will take you on another journey, do not feel lost or miserable for it is by His power that we become more and by His power that we overcome. 

Today I want you to feel that you are awesome and that your commitment to Jesus us phenomenal. You are so important to the success of the Kingdom of God and your work will be written in the hearts of those around you. Let us be a pillar and an ambassador for Jesus and let us spread the good news of His gospel.

Lord, enable us today to be your hands and feet in this world and let us show you to all we meet. In Jesus name.

Today Reminder – 21 July 2016

A reminder for today

Now, however, it is time to forgive and comfort him. Otherwise he may be overcome by discouragement. So I urge you now to reaffirm your love for him. (2 Corinthians 2:7-8)

Forgiveness is the most powerful tool we possess. It not only breaks the chains of the enemy; it also releases you from the power the enemy could have on you. It also releases the other person from the same grip. Forgives heals and builds. 

So now I encourage you to forgive and let go so that the other person will not be discouraged but rather be encouraged to do better by the love you show. Forgiveness is all about love and it embodies the scripture where Jesus says that you should love another like yourself. Real love sees no hate and real love brings about freedom for all. 

So today I want you to forgive just as God has forgiven you. Hold no grudges and keep no record of the wrongs against you. Love with compassion and speak life over all those that needs your forgiveness. Release yourself from the bonds of the enemy by forgiving and forgetting. 

Then Peter came to him and asked, "Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?" "No, not seven times," Jesus replied, "but seventy times seven! (Matthew 18:21-22)

Lord, help us to forgive with compassion and give us the strength to release those we hold in our grudges. Help us to love completely and set us free from the enemy. In Jesus name.
