Today Reminder (What about Jesus) – 26 June 2018

A reminder for today
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Life is one tough process from childhood all the way to adulthood and finally cemetery-hood. We live for a short period in comparison to what eternity promises. How do we live this life? Do we accept and just live to get it past us or are we here to make a difference and maybe change a life? When we look at Jesus I would say one reminder post is surely not enough and I have written to you about Jesus before and His deity.

But today I want to remind you why He came and not who He is. Jesus said they that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance (Luke 5). Jesus came for the lost and the broken. He came for the weak and forgotten. He came for the poor and the hungry. He came for the sinners and those who are ashamed.

Jesus came for you and me. And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God (Mark 10). Jesus said that there is not one good not even one except God. this means that regardless how much people think they are better than other, they are not good. Everyone makes a mistake, and everyone sins. Jesus came for all of us.

What about Jesus? He is the only Son of God who became a man and lived a perfect live so that He can become the perfect sacrifice for a broken and dark world. If we were left to try and do this on our own, we have already failed. You see God saw the weakness of man and how easily he can be manipulated and misled. God saw that sin controls man and if He did not intervene we would not have a chance.

So, God took what is impossible for us and carried the burden of sin with Him to His death so that He can defeat sin and free us from the grip of sin. Now, once sin had no more influence in this world it also meant that the great accuser (satan) had no more hold on us. Now that we know our sins are forgiven and that we have a saviour in Jesus Christ, there in nothing that the enemy can keep against us. This must be very frustrating for someone who wants to end all followers of Jesus.

Jesus took what we could not carry, and He cleared it from our lives. He took what was keeping us from Him and opened a door and created a way for us to heaven and eternity. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53).

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Today Reminder (What about grace) – 25 June 2018

A reminder for today
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

We are currently busy with a serios in our church about those difficult questions that we have and sometimes we do not have answers for. I have touched on a few in the past on my blog. This week we looked at the question “Why does bad things happen to good people?” or “Why do people get cancer?” or “Why did it happen to me?”. We listened to two amazing testimonies and the one of them said why do we answer hate with hate. Where is grace?

This took me back to the times my parents were attacked on their farm and especially the time my Mom was shot, and I remember how that influenced my judgement especially over bad people and how angry I was. It has taken a long time for me to get to the place I am now. I finally understand grace.

God loves us, and He loves us all. We make our own choices and we allow sin into our lives and we become driven by fear and anger. We feel in control when we can complain and hate and judge and we have all the solutions that is self-motivated. When God is here we become fearless. We stop being influenced by the world, but we become driven by love and grace.

Today I have forgiven them, and I know that this life is a mere moment. I know that I will face more challenges just as Jesus said, but I am fearless. This weekend I had to drive over a sidewalk to get past a truck and I turned back to quickly and the storm drain edge took a gap out of my tire. I was at a loss for words, but I knew who did this. When I asked Tiger wheel and tyre how much a new one will be, they were on special. I was at a loss for words again.

What about grace? Jesus said that His grace is enough, and His strength is made perfect in weakness. So, once again I will rejoice and be glad in my infirmities (weaknesses, flaws…) because Jesus is the light. He is the light in the darkness and He is the only way. I will face my obstacles and I will show the love of God in all I face. With God all things are possible.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder (This world) – 22 June 2018

A reminder for today
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. (Revelation 12:12)

The world today is a hub of technology and fast paced solutions to make life easier and faster. We have come to a place where people will seek their answers online and not in the Bible. The world and the people of this world has turned man against God by trying to take the Bible out of our lives. This is what devil has been working for. He has been trying for decades to pull God out of our lives and to make people worldlier. We see this in the exodus on church goers and people believing all kinds of incorrect and fallible doctrines. People will rather believe what is comfortable and easier than to follow God’s word.

Jesus made it clear that His followers will face tribulation and that the world that hated Him first will hate us also. This verse in revelation seems so close to what we are facing today. If you just consider the hatred, the double standards and the prejudice we face. It is clear that the devil has come down unto us with great wrath, because he knows his time is short.

This inevitably is good news for us, because this means that the return of our Lord is close. It is also imperative that we stay focussed and keep doing what He told us and that is to keep spreading the gospel and to keep telling people of His grace and love.

It is also a huge motivator in a world that has fallen into darkness for us to remain faithful and to keep fighting the good fight. Keep spreading the truth and keep sharing the words of Jesus. Read you Bible, the whole one and pray as often as you can. It is not easy, but you are not alone.

Be proud of your faith and do not stand back for anyone. Be proud of who you are in Jesus and the message that you bring. Do not let the enemy confuse you but reject him so that he will flee from you.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
