Today's thought - 31 January 2026

 

We all face times of trouble and days where things just seem out if control. I guess I get most annoyed with myself when I work so hard to walk close to God and then out of the blue I am filled with irritation and frustration. 

I get upset and it is almost as if I lost all that I worked so hard to gain. Once we make a mistake like getting angry the enemy pounces on you like a hungry lion. He reminds me of the fruits of the Spirit and that I am just not good enough and that I am wasting my time fighting this battle. 

What is the one thing we know about satan that stands out - he is the father of lies. In fact he is the inventor of lies since it all started with a lie in the garden of eden and since then he has perfected this attribute. God will always protect us from their power and lies. It is with a broken heart and true repentance that we get God’s attention as we take shelter in Him. 

I am just a man living in a world filled with trials and tribulation. When you are at your lowest and when you are at your highest always seek God with all your heart. Even when you think that your mistakes are beyond repair and you are not worthy of His grace. 

In fact it is then when you are even more deserving of His grace. My dear friend, come with me as we fully surrender to God and ask Him to rescue us from the lies of the enemy.

Today's thought - 30 January 2026

In today’s world we hear all kinds of weird and wonderful things. It is important that we always stand on the Word of God as the source we compare all with. The world’s primary objective is to turn people away from God so they will seek all kinds of ways to bring doubt in our minds. 

Even now with all the alien phenomenon that is exposed they will attack your faith with all kinds of man made ideas. My dear friend, all things were made through Jesus. He made everything. The universe, the world, dinosaurs, people, angels, fallen angels and yes also satan. So, the world can speculate all they want and yes there are lots we do not understand but what we do know is that Jesus is who He said He is and He is the creator of everything. 

As Paul writes “For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.”  Whatever the world tries to make us doubt will be known one day. So, do not let people’s self made ideas steer you away or damage your faith. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness does not comprehend it.

Today's thought - 29 January 2026

God has been placing Psalm 51 on my heart a few times this week and as we continue on into this year I feel it is important that I again acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s guidance into telling us that we should desire an intimate and close relationship with God. 

Jesus was in constant prayer and Paul writes that he also pray all the time. It is important that we understand that we cannot do this on our own strength but purely out of grace. So I pray this morning that God will give us more grace and more wisdom so that we can obey His Word to its fullness and live lives that is close to God. 

I pray that His voice will be clear every moment and that our hearts will long for more of Him and that we fully surrender to God and His Word. I pray that your day will be filled with love and grace and that you will experience intimacy with God on new level.

Today's thought - 28 January 2026

From this chapter in Ezekiel there are four important things to consider about God’s judgement. 

1) Divine judgement is justified. The text shows that sinners are completely defiled and deluded, being complacent in sin. 

2) Divine judgement is comprehensive. None will be spared regardless of age, gender because they have sinned. 

3) Divine judgement is infallible. It began at the sanctuary and shows that the religious hypocrites are known to God, who looks through religion at the heart. 

4) Devine judgement is escapable. God has marked those who belong to Him, redeeming them through the blood of Jesus and sealing them with the Holy Spirit and enabling them to live out as evidence their salvation with holy fear and repentance of sin. 

Jesus is the only one who can save and He saves those who are broken before God in sorrow about sin and who cry out to Him daily. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

Today's thought - 27 January 2026

 

Create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me. I often write about intimacy with God and draw near to God and He will draw near to you. It is important that we grasp the importance of having an intimate relationship with God. The message translation just brings the Psalm to life. Soak me in your laundry and wash me clean. 

Don’t look at my faults but give me a clean bill. Shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life. This is so important that we let go of things that holds us back and let God just cleanse our souls. Each day His mercies are new and each day we must renew ourselves. God does not look at perfection. He looks at the broken heart that cries out to Him. He looks at your innermost feelings and the desires of your heart. 

To know someone intimate is to know their deepest secrets, needs and desires. You only know someone intimately if you work at getting to know them and spending time with them. Fellowship with God, read His Word, worship Him in your own time and take everything in prayer to Him and your life will soar to new highs.

Today's thought - 26 January 2026

 

Life is full of ups and downs and some days we are strong and some days we battle. Paul writes here in Philippians 4 that we should not be anxious about anything but in everything rather bring your concerns to the Lord in prayer. God will give us peace in the presence of suffering that surpasses all understanding. 

Jesus will keep and protect our hearts and minds. Instead of allowing our thoughts to run away with us we give it to Him and His peace will calm our minds and give us hope. Storms will rise and some days it will feel as if you are drowning but through our Lord Jesus Christ we can do anything. Face anything, overcome everything and survive any storm. It may feel to you that you are overwhelmed and unable to carry on but the moment you turn to the Lord in prayer it will lift and His love will overflow through you. 

There lies great victory and freedom in Jesus our Lord and saviour. My dear friend, do not be troubled by this world and the battles you face but humble yourself in prayer and listen to your conscience. God will give us the desires of our hearts when we obey and trust Him.

Today's thought - 25 January 2026

 

In essence this is our faith. He became a man and carried all our sin to the cross where He gave His life so we can be saved from the grip of sin and death. He then will return and those who are still alive and eagerly waiting will be saved, the final salvation. Jesus is the name that saves, the name that heals, the name to gives hope, the name that strengthen us, the name above all names. 

He is the way, the truth and the life. There is no other name. My dear friend, Jesus will return and His return is near. The star breathing, sin bearing, life giving creator of the universe is the one who became a man and obeyed God to the end giving us the greatest gift and in Him lies our strength and joy. Come with me as we just give Him glory and thanksgiving for all that He did and is still doing every day.

Today's thought - 24 January 2026

 

Sin destroys lives. Many times Christians fall because of sinfull desires and idols they make for themselves. The world has become a place that motivates sin and rejects God. It is important that we stand our ground and seek God every day. As the body needs nourishment also our souls need to be refreshed. 

God’s mercies are renewed each day and we also need to renew our minds and strengthen our hearts by the Word of God. David wrote as the deer pants for water so I long for God. We must have a deep desire to draw nearer to God and make Him our all. A pastor once said if your Bible falls apart your life will not. If you give God His rightful place in your life and seek to obey Him and His Word, your life will prosper. 

It is important that we take everything to God in prayer and live lives dependant on Him and trusting Him. My dear friend, sin and idols are tools the enemy uses to steal your life. It keeps us distant from God and out of the kingdom of heaven. Strive to live obedient to God no matter how hard, difficult, painful or costly. In the end you will see His planned outcome and you will be prosperous in everything you do.

Today's thought - 23 January 2026

 

My dear friend, this is a message Jesus gave before His crucifixion. As He faced this mountain knowing exactly what lies ahead and what the outcome will be. He plainly tells us that we will face trouble and sorrows. However hard the may be or difficult to understand it is important that we stand strong and be courageous even when the battle seems impossible and the hurt becomes unbearable. 

In these words lies hope and peace. Jesus said that His Words (teachings) will give us peace, the same peace He had before His crucifixion and as we find our rest (a profound spiritual peace and fulfillment found through faith in Jesus Christ) in Him we will have great confidence (boldness). Finally and most important Jesus said “for I have conquered the world”. 

This is the very foundation we can stand on knowing He has already won the battle and His victory is our victory and His authority is also our authority. My dear friend, do not allow life to get you down but continue to place your hope and trust and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ for He will hear your prayer and He knows exactly what to do.

Today's thought - 22 January 2026

 

Sometimes we find ourselves in heart-wrenching trouble that overwhelms us. The Lord Himself felt this way John 12. God says give your burdens to Him and He will take care of us. In His presence we will find peace and quiet rest far away from the reach of those who has give us grief. Sometimes in life it is a close friend, a relative or even an apparent godly person who lets us down badly and causes us a great deal of pain. 

Jesus is the only way and it is best to lay this before Him in prayer and even if He does not change it or acts upon it in the time we desire, He knows best and He knows exactly how to sustain His servants. His will and time is perfect and His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. As we delight in Him and trust Him, He will make it come to pass. In His rest we will find our peace and in Him will we find victory over the plans of the wicked. 

Remember we walk by faith and not by sight. What is invisible to us is visible to God and what is broken can be restored by God. Be patient and be kind, God will never allow the righteous to be cast down. He will always sustain them.
