A reminder for today

My dear friend, this week God reminded us of His love, His blessings and that we should honour Him with all our gifts and we must do this with every moment and every breath. So I would like to end this week by praising God for all He has done and is doing in our lives. Come with me today as we lift up our hands and praise the Creator of heaven and earth. Praise the Lord!

Praise the LORD!

Let all that I am praise the LORD. I will praise the LORD as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath. Don't put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there. When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them. But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the LORD their God. He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever. He gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry. The LORD frees the prisoners. The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are weighed down. The LORD loves the godly. The LORD protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked. The LORD will reign forever. He will be your God, O Jerusalem, throughout the generations.

Today Reminder - 29 August 2013 (Dedicate)

A reminder for today

King David dedicated all these gifts to the LORD, along with the silver and gold he had taken from the other nations—from Edom, Moab, Ammon, Philistia, and Amalek. (1 Chronicles 18:11)

King Davis’s victories were awesome. He defeated all the enemies of Israel so the Lord made David victorious wherever he went (Verse 6), and then David dedicated all these gifts to the Lord.

So yesterday we were reminded that God’s blessings last forever and today the Holy Spirit wants us to dedicate our gifts to the Lord.

My dear friend, come with me today as we dedicate our gifts, our blessings and our talents to the Lord. Let us stand and boldly glorify Him for everything and let all see that we do not take God’s blessings for granted but that we humbly dedicate each one to Him as we live to show God to the world.

God is not a moment God, God is an always God. He should not only be visible when we need Him in our lives, He should be visible in everything that we do. Let us lift up our hands and worship Him for all He is doing and let us give thanks to the Lord for all His blessings and talents that allows us to continue each day.

Then the way you live will always honour and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. (1 Col 10)

Today Reminder - 28 August 2013 (Eternal Blessings)

A reminder for today

And now, it has pleased you to bless the house of your servant, so that it will continue forever before you. For when you grant a blessing, O LORD, it is an eternal blessing!" (1 Chronicles 17:27)

This is such an awesome verse: For when you grant a blessing, O LORD, it is an eternal blessing. We started this week with the reminder that God’s love endures forever and yesterday I took us down memory lane to remember what God has done and is still doing in our lives. It is clear to me that the Lord wants us to know and remember this week that His blessings are upon us and that He only wants to see us prosper beyond all the troubles that we think awaits us.

I have been troubled lately about the ever increasing fuel prices and the food prices that keep on rising and never come back down again. This continuous increase in expenses is putting more and more stress on our income. The Lord has been hearing my prayer and my continuous search for a solution to this accumulative burden. This is why He so clearly reminds us this week of His everlasting love, His continuous blessings and the fact that His blessings last forever.

So let us take our worries and our fears once again and trust the Lord for He will deliver us from our difficulties and break the grip of fear as He continuous to bless us. 

My dear friend, trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)

Today Reminder - 27 August 2013 (Who am I)

A reminder for today

"Who am I, O LORD God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far?” (1 Chronicles 17:16)

It has been a tough week already and it is only Tuesday. I often think about all the wonders and gifts that the Lord has blessed us with and our two beautiful sons that is an awesome blessing in our lives. These words of David has been on my lips before; “Who am I?” Who am I that the Lord has blessed me with so much and has forgiven all the wrongs in my live so that I can write about His amazing love? In the midst of all the turmoil and chaos the Lord brings my life to a halt so that I can focus on Him once again as I realise how blessed we are.

My dear friend, have you ever wondered why? God wants to declare His love for us each day and in each blessing He wants us to remember where it all comes from and give honour to His name for all that we have and all that we receive. God has done so much already in my life and I know that the stumbling blocks, pitfalls and storms are there to guide me. So today I am grateful for all that the Lord has done and is still doing each day. 

Come with me today me dear friend and let us rejoice in the Lord for all He is doing in our lives. 

"What more can I say to you about the way you have honoured me? You know what your servant is really like. For the sake of your servant, O LORD, and according to your will, you have done all these great things and have made them known. (Verse 18 and 19)

Today Reminder - 26 August 2013 (Endures)

A reminder for today

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. (1 Chronicles 16:34)

It is Monday again. I do hope that you had a wonderful weekend and that you are fully rested for the week ahead. Our theme in J-Zone (Kids ministry) is about the live of Joseph and all his trials and hardships and his final appointment as ruler of Egypt just under Pharaoh. We talk about the phrase “Because I love God, I can trust Him” and when I read this verse today about the song of praise that David gave the Levites after they brought the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem I realised that we forget how God took Joseph through a number of trails before he ended up where God wanted him to be. Had he not been in jail, Pharaoh would not have known about his gift to interpret dreams.

My dear friend, the trials and tribulations that we face are all part of God’s plan and we might be going through tough times but these misfortunes will place us in a position where God could use us or He is busy preparing us for a specific task. We can’t see it now and we should not stare ourselves blind in our circumstances. We must keep our eyes focussed on Him and seek Him at all times. Because I love Him, I will trust Him and I will give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. 

All week these verses have been stuck in my head: Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. (2 Corinthians 12:9) 

I know now that I must just live and trust Him no matter how my circumstances change, it is all part of His plan and His love and grace is all I need.
