reminder for today

was seven years old when he became king. (2 Kings 11:21)
Wow, at the age a seven this little boy became a king. We
live in a time where there is so much pressure on children and they are
burdened with huge amounts of homework from school, plus they have their normal
sport activities. So in a child’s day they have a huge amount to do and often
are very tired. I have seen my son on numerous accounts fall asleep on the
couch in front of the television. When I read this verse, I thought it is quite
a large responsibility on such tiny shoulders. This little boy was hidden away
so that he was not killed and later crowned as king.
My dear friend, two things are on my mind today. One is
to remind you that your life has a purpose and God has already set things in
motion so that you can reach that purpose. From the day you were born your life
has already been planned and put into place by God and He needs you to live
your life for Him so that you can become the person that God needs you to be. This
requires obedience and patience and time and you will have to commit to that. Secondly
I want to focus your eyes on differences. Each king that we read about in the
second book of kings had specific differences and this made each one of them
unique. God has made us each unique in our own way with gifts and talents that
makes us who we are. From a long line of people your DNA structure has been
added together to from the person who you are and this uniqueness is what makes
you so important in the kingdom of God. God did not make robots, He made people
with their own abilities and talents and each one of us should respect the
differences in each other, because what makes you unique is something I do not
have. And God needs you to be that person. Live your life for Jesus and become
the unique person that you are designed to be and live my dear friend, live
each moment and let us not lose a single opportunity to be Jesus people.
"I
knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set
you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5)
