A reminder for
today
So I say, let the Holy
Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature
craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of
what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of
what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each
other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. (Galatians 5:16-47)
There are always two opposing forces in our lives. There is
always good and there is always evil. There is always what the Spirit wants us
to do and then there is the desires of our sinful nature that is influenced by
the enemy as it seeks our downfall. In the end it remains our choice and we
decide which way to follow. Do we fall by listening to a misleading enemy of do
we follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Each day we face many choices and yes we make many bad
choices too. The important thing is that we do
not identify ourselves with the bad choices we make, but that we
identify with the guidance that we receive from the Holy Spirit.
You are free to make a choice, but make sure that you listen
carefully so that you are not chained by a bad choice. Rather follow the voice
of the Lord and live in freedom by His grace and His way.
So today I want you to take every choice you make to the
Lord and listen to His voice and let the Holy Spirit guide you. Follow His way
and make the choice in faith and not in desire.
Lord, take all our decisions today and show us the correct
way. In Jesus name.
