A reminder for
today
Give, and you will
receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to
make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give
will determine the amount you get back. (Luke 6:38)
It is mere hours before Christmas and everywhere people are
getting ready for their Christmas celebrations. So all I want to remind you of
is that a life for Jesus is a life of giving. Giving of your time, giving of
your friendship, giving of your ears to listen, giving of your heart to care
and giving where there is need. Jesus made it very clear that you shall receive
when you give. It reminds me of something I wrote to you a while back. It is
called the open hand character. You see to receive you must have an open hand
and an open hand gives at the same time, where a closed hand cannot give nor
can it receive. What is quite important is that you read this verse carefully. Note:
The
amount you give will determine the amount you get back. So when you give a
little from your abundance then you are not giving all that much, but when you
do not have much yet you give with a loving heart you will receive in full—pressed down, shaken together to
make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap.
Here in South Africa many of us have a domestic lady (Maid)
that comes in maybe once of twice a week to help with the ironing and cleaning
of our homes. It is a privilege and many of these domestic workers live very
hard lives with very little. Our domestic worker has been complaining about
here roof, because after the storms we had her roof was damaged badly. So we
decided to help here repair her roof and help her buy new doors for her home so
that she can live a little better. Besides that we help with food and clothes
on a monthly basis and I can say that we do it because of our faith, because
just as the Lord blesses us we are now able to bless her. And by our way of
life she will see Jesus for who He really is. A loving God and an amazing God.
So today I want you to give a little and share a little of
the heart of Jesus with other. It is much nicer to give than to receive.
Lord, I pray that you will bless each one of us reading your
blog and that you will return what we give in full pressed down, shaken
together to make room for more, running over, and poured into our laps as we
give all that we are for you. In Jesus name.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus and merry Christmas
to you and your family. May the love our Lord shine brightly over your festive
day and I pray that you will all be safe as you travel and may the Lord bless
all of you in abundance.
Cheers
