A reminder for
today
And while they were
there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her first
child, a son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a
manger, because there was no lodging available for them. (Luke 2:6-7)
How was your Christmas, my friend? I do hope you had a
blessed time and that you could celebrate the birth of our Lord. Funny thing is
that we might have the date wrong if you listen to the clever people and you
compare the Jewish calendar to our calendar. But what is the reason we would take
a date (maybe the wrong one) and celebrate it as if we won a massive prize. It
is because we celebrate the change of who we are are and how we live. Before
Jesus came so many were doomed and lost, because of the distance that was
created by man against the Lord. Jesus came and gave a new perspective and new hope. He changed the way the world looked
at God and became one of us so that we can be one with Him.
For a child is born to
us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will
be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of
Peace. His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness
and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The
passionate commitment of the LORD of Heaven's Armies will make this happen! (Isaiah
9:6-7)
Jesus changed everything by giving us the greatest gift any
person could ever receive. The gift of life and freedom. So we celebrate this day
as we should every other day and no matter what the clever people say, we
celebrate because we have bee changed by this gift and in our gifts we will
change other as they see Him and meet Him through His love.
The world is a dark and terrible place, but when we
celebrate Christmas we crack holes into this darkness and we bring in the light
of our Lord and everywhere He touches life explodes. So, yes let’s celebrate
more and make a big deal of this, because Jesus is a big deal.
Lord, as we continue to celebrate your gift to us let our
hearts touch those in the dark and bring about change in their lives. In Jesus
name.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
