Today Reminder – 22 March 2017

A reminder for today
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy. (Psalm 5:11)

Oh yes we had a very lazy and relaxing holiday yesterday. I am rubbing it in – hee hee. How are you, my friend? It is Wednesday and my Mom made a comment this weekend on how quickly time flies by. It is just unbelievable, because here we are nearing the end of March already. Our season is turning and autumn is on the horizon. So, before you know it we will be smack bang in winter. I am not a fan of winter and I don’t like to get cold. So not my favourite season. But in all seasons there is beauty. It is amazing to watch the seasons change especially now when we are moving into autumn and all the leaves turn into that reddish/brownish colour. It is just so beautiful.

Today the Lord wants us to remember that we can take our refuge in Him. When we find our refuge in Him we will find our joy in Him. In Him we will have our protection and a loving God will increase our joy, because our joy will be based on God and not on material worldly things. God is eternal so our joy will be eternal. Anything else is temporary and will never give you true joy.

So, my joy is in the Lord our God. He is my rock and my fortress and the reason I will not give up. I am whole, because He gives purpose to me and He fills me with eternal joy that nothing on this earth can ever replace.

Lord, you are our joy and our happiness. In your we find peace and strength. Fill us with you so that we will shine your glory to the world around us. Let us wear your armour today fearless and courageous. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
