A reminder for
today
But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the
transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
(Proverbs 2:22)
I am looking at crime statistics for South Africa in 2017.
It is unbelievable how many reported incidents we had how much crime there is,
and I am just looking at South Africa. I have not even begun to look at the
rest of the world. Here is some that I think you need to be aware of. There were
49445 sexual offences, 18086 attempted murder, 140120 robberies with
aggravating circumstances, 245595 burglaries at residential premises, 53032
motor vehicle thefts, 16051 in the possession of illegal firearms, 292388 drug
related crimes, 39633 rapes and 6253 sexual assaults. When you look at this it
is almost impossible to imagine, and this is just South Africa. We live in a
very dark world and it is important that we face reality, but it is also
important that we know what God thinks about evil.
I am committed to teach children and adults self-defence,
but more so am I committed to fight evil on my knees. I think it is good to be
prepared, but it is more important that we attack the root of evil and that is satan.
God says that the wicked will be cut off from the earth and the transgressors
will be rooted out. God says that He will basically destroy evil by ripping it
out of its roots and breaking its grip. We need to pray, and we need to unite
in prayer against all evil. I am thinking of the shooting in America just a few
days ago and the terrible injustice that is done to Christians all over the
world.
I am thinking about
the lost, the scared, those in pain, the ones facing danger, people in trouble,
people abducted, people in drugs, people broken and people that are in need of
clothes and food. We must stand together and fight the enemy and we must
understand that God hears our prayers and He will root out evil and destroy the
attempts of the enemy. We must just go down on our knees and fight.
Come with me today as we unite against evil and stand together
in prayer as we call on the Lord to break the grip of evil and set the captives
free.
Lord, we desperately need you and we need your help. Come and
break the enemy and let all their attempts fail to hurt more people. Let the world
see how you save us and how you deliver us from evil and let every knee bow
down and pray together in this fight. In Jesus name.
