Today Reminder (Risen) – 28 March 2018

A reminder for today
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

This weekend Christians all over the world will celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. But what does the resurrection mean to you? Do you go to church and then have an Easter egg hunt? Do you celebrate and next week everything is back to normal?

I have written to you earlier in the month about Easter versus Passover and what do we really celebrate. For me the risen Jesus has more meaning than just this weekend with the two public holidays. You see the resurrection of our Lord is something I carry with me every day. It is the gospel and the very foundation of our religion.

None of the apostles celebrated easter anywhere in the Bible, instead they risked their lives to carry the gospel to people all over the world facing death and danger at every step of the way. This is the true gospel to me. What do you do to contribute to the kingdom of God? You can eat all the easter eggs in world, but it will have no meaning, but you can share the gospel with one person and it is life changing.

Are you a weekend Christian or are you an all out fearless gospel carrier and warrior for the Lord? I do not want to conform to this world and I do not want to be influenced by this world and what the masses think we should do. I want to be influenced by Jesus Christ and His word. I want to stand out and be different from the norm. I want to shine for His glory and show His love every day of my life. I do not want to be misled by the lies of the enemy, but I want to live in the truth and the life that is Jesus Christ.

I want to be the one the enemy hates and the one that other will see and desire to have what I have. I want them to see Jesus in me and not only when everyone else suddenly buys easter eggs. I want to be a light in the darkness and the voice of Jesus. I want to share His gospel and touch lives and lead people to the Lord.

He is my eternal, immortal and invincible God. He is my King and my God, and I worship Him alone.

Lord, we are so grateful for what you did for us on that cross. Please give us the strength and wisdom to carry your gospel through all the storms this life can throw at us. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

PS: I am taking a few days off. I will chat to you guys again next week. Have an awesome weekend.

Today Reminder (The flood) – 27 March 2018

A reminder for today
Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Genesis 20:3)

When in an argument with atheists the flood often arises. People will question the love of God with the flood. So, if your God is love, why did He destroy all those people in the flood? This is a question with a lengthy answer but let me try and break it down to you and if you like you can research the subject more. For now, we need to go back in time before the flood. It all starts in Genesis 6: And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose (verse 1 and 2).

These sons of God are angels (As per the book of Enoch) mating with human woman. The result was the Nephilim and the beginning of a corrupted blood line. These are the giants that are in the Bible and I believe that much of the ancient Greek mythology is based on these Nephilim that lived in that time.

These Nephilim was worshiped like gods and the world was corrupted by violence and sexual immorality. Remember one third of the angels fell with lucifer and these fallen angels are the ones that created the Nephilim. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually (verse 4 and 5).

And it repented (regret) the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them (verse 6 and 7).

Now we can see that the God was angry about the corruption of His creation and the evil that was in the heart of man. The earth was filled with violence and corruption. God decided to destroy this evil and therefore He flooded the entire earth killing all except Noah and his family.

Now with that in mind let me take you to Matthew 24 verse 37 where Jesus said: But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

If you think about the violence and evil that the Bible discusses in the days of Noah and you look at the world as it is now. What do you think? You are right, we are living in the end and please keep this in mind where Jesus said in Matthew 24 verse 42: Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Lord, please keep us safe from the evil of this world and lead us away from temptation. Let us hear you and listen so that we will be ready when you return. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder (Ice Age) – 26 March 2018

A reminder for today
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32)

When confronted with the argument that the earth is billions of years old I often get the ice age question. Glaciers, mammoths, and saber-toothed cats (sometimes called saber-toothed tigers)—those are just some of the things that immediately spring to mind when we think of the Ice Age. But some Christians wonder if there really was an Ice Age. Where does it fit in biblical history? Actually, it’s not biblical creationists who have a challenge explaining it. Secular scientists who propose dozens of ice ages throughout the past have some major hurdles to overcome!

So, let me share some ice age facts with you from renowned scientist and creationist Ken Ham. You see, there are many lines of evidence that strongly suggest there was indeed an Ice Age in earth’s history. Now, what you need to form an ice age is much more than just a cold earth. Warm waters are required, so you have excess evaporation and cooler temperatures, especially summers, so this precipitation falls as snow and doesn’t melt. And the Flood of Noah’s day provides the key!

Intense volcanic and tectonic activity during the Flood would significantly warm the ocean waters. This would result in heavy evaporation. The volcanic activity would fill the atmosphere with ash and particles called dioxides, which would block sunlight, dropping the global temperature (we’ve observed this on a small scale with small volcanoes). This would lead to cooler temperatures and summers, allowing snow and ice to accumulate quite quickly without melting. Eventually the Ice Age peaked, and then declined, within several hundred years of the Flood.

The Flood, about 4,350 years ago, explains the Ice Age! Evolutionists don’t have a mechanism that would drive such an ice age, but creationists do!

So often we forget that something as catastrophic as the flood in Noah’s days had such a huge impact on the earth and the formation of layers and weather conditions. From a Biblical perspective we can explain everything and understand the results. Our God is a great God and people continue to forget that He is the creator of all and He is an almighty God.

Lord, thank you for confirming everything we question from your Word and with your Holy Spirit as our guide. Please let us not conform to this world but instead live radical lives for your glory. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
