Today Reminder (I knew thee) – 16 March 2018

A reminder for today
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5)

My son said to me yesterday that one of his friends does not know what talents he has. My response was that God gives each one of us a specific set of talents that we use to glorify Him in our lives. These talents are uniquely placed in us so that we are who we are. I love this verse from Jeremiah and believe it is quite compelling when we start to look at abortions.

God said to Jeremiah that He knew Him (and please note) before God formed him in his mother’s belly. Plus, God made him holy before he was born while he was still and unborn baby. When we start to look at this and we look at ourselves we should start to realise that the person you are was carefully designed even before you are formed. Now, this can open quite a can of worms, because what is it then when someone is raped, and they get pregnant. Did God plan that and allowed it when it is so wrong in His eyes?

Believe me this is not an easy question. But let me see if I can put some light on the issue. You see I think God means that after the deed (no matter the circumstance) he knew that you are going to be formed. He knew that out of this will come a little person. God then knows you and who you are before the cells actually start to form. You see the enemy will try his best to break the image of God and that is us. But God can take something bad and turn it into something good. This means that even though the act was intended evil the result can be eternal good.

This means that despite the fact of how you entered the world God knows you and when the cells started to combine, God carefully and lovingly formed you. God does not create a mistake even if the act was a mistake or seen as a mistake. Because this could also be an unplanned birth and no matter the situation it could create challenges.

What do we do? We take God’s creation and we love it and let it grow into the good that God intends for all. This little bundle of joy will be His follower and do good in the world. To summarise this for you I will say that you are made holy regardless of your past and that you are meant to be here. You are special in every sense of it and God loves you so much. You have purpose, my friend. You are a child of God and He died on that cross to prove His love for you. You do not need to wonder of worry about how much He loves you. It is abundantly clear.

Lord, thank you for loving us so much and for lifting us up high above our past and building us up for your glory. Let us shine for you, Lord and let us use our talents for the good of your kingdom. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
