Today Reminder (Fear the Lord) – 8 June 2018

A reminder for today
Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. (Psalm 128)

Jesus said in Matthew 10: And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. I think we often forget that hell is a reality and that it is the destination of all who rejects Jesus and are not ready when the time comes for the Lord to return. The world can be confusing at times. I see it daily in the way people behave and what they complain about. People that are Christians can so easily be influenced by the world and led astray.

It is weird that the church will also follow things that becomes popular in the world and rejects those that are not so popular. The Bible states in Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. So, the Bible makes it clear that we have to start with the fear of the Lord. So, for me to understand God I have to understand fear. Yet the world and the worldly church moved away from that doctrine and began preaching the other side of God, but if we skip the fear of God we will not understand the other parts of God.

In the Bible when people came into contact with God they were terrified. I think about the Israelites when God was in the mountain when they were in the desert after Egypt. When Isaiah saw God, it was almost as he thought he would die. It was this instant understanding of fear and who God is. John fell to His feet when Jesus came back in His glorified form. He was overwhelmed by the majesty of God. Nowadays people are so arrogant towards God and they question Him and all that He does. The reality is that the moment you see God you will fear Him. God says in Isiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

We need to understand that there is one being that is God and there is no other like Him. He says in verse 6: And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
Yet the world wants a more manageable God. One they can control and tell what to do. Why would we be embarrassed by the majesty and greatness of our God. In fact, we should proclaim it and show it and tell everyone about it.

Then God goes on in verse 8 and says: Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any. Now at fist God says fear Him and then He goes on and says fear not. This might be a bit confusing. God means that once you get to that point that you understand who He is you do not have to fear Him. The Bible says that if God is for us who can be against us, but you have to get to that point of understanding. The point where we realise it is not about us, but it is all bout God.

God calls us His children and in that we have the security of His love and protection. He calls us friend and refers to us as the bride. There is a huge form of security in that and how we are loved by this amazing God.

What would it be like if we se Him? I believe that we would be terrified, but that fear will disappear, because we know Him and understand Him. In fact, I think when we see Him we will be in this amazing place of peace and tranquillity. A place where we feel so safe and secure. He is coming soon. Do not be influenced by the lies of the world, but be influenced by who God is.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
