A reminder for
today
For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it
withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the
fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. (James
1:11)
We are busy with a series in our church called “Impacting my
world”. So many of us journey through life just accepting everything as it is and
missing our purpose. To make an impact is one of the most rewarding things we can
ever experience. I often drive though one of our more privileged areas and I look
at the abundance of people and I think about those who does not have food to
eat. How do we impact? Do we give what we can, or do we give a little from our
abundance?
James writes that just as the grass and the flower fades under
the burning sun, so will the rich man fade away in his ways. Materialism has
become a huge problem in our world where people just want more and more. It is
time that we move from hoarding to impacting. There is so much need in our world
and you do not have to go far, because I can guarantee you there is need in your
area.
We miss the need because we look at the outside and we miss
what is happening on the inside. We should start to speak more and facebook
less. We need to get to know the people around us and learn more about them and
their needs. Sometimes all they need is someone that will listen and pray with
them. Sometimes all they need is to hear that God is there and He will not abandon
them.
I am a child of God and I am no longer a slave to fear. That
is why I will stand and make a difference. We are quick to complain but slow to
act. Go down to your knees and fight this world with me. Let is stop talking
and start acting. Let us fight the enemy and pray for all. Let’s make a difference
and touch the lives we meet. It will cost you nothing to just talk to someone
and listen to them. It will cost you nothing to pray for someone. It will cost
you nothing to help someone with your time. It will cost you nothing to smile
and to be friendly. It will cost you nothing to love, but it will enrich your
life.
Come with me today was we impact our world and change it step
by step, because with God all things are possible. Do not jut read your Bible,
make it part of you and live it out so that other will see it through you.
Jesus loves you, my friend. He gave His life for you out of love. Let love be
your way of life through grace.
