Today Reminder (All things) – 8 February 2018

A reminder for today

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)

When you think about my theme “All things” the Holy Spirit reminded me that there is much more to those words than we think. Let’s look at Colossians 1:16-18 first:

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence.

Now note, for by Him all things were created. All things were created by Him and for Him. All God is was before all things and by Him all things consist (exist). In all things He has pre-eminence (supremacy).  This is a nice place to say amen and continue with wow. Wow God is amazing and in just these three verses we see so much of Him. I must say when I walk outside and I look at the world around me I have a new way of looking. All things are for Him and I have to remind myself that my life has to be one of those things that is for Him. It surely is by Him and I exist mainly because of Him and most of all He should have complete supremacy (reign) in my life. 

Now when we look at today’s verse where Jesus said that with men it is impossible but with God all things are possible. We definitely see more clearly, because we now know that all is for Him and by Him, so all is possible with Him. It makes you feel different and walk different. I changes the way you look at you challenges plus it makes the way you live more fruitful. You see the minute we comprehend who God is and we realise that this God is with us and within us we suddenly understand that there is nothing the enemy can do to take away what we have in Him. God is above all things and He is all things. He is the creator, the sustainer, the saviour, the beginning, the end, the King of kings and the God of gods. He is all, and I have all that in me. I am without words. 

Therefore, let us take this day and show this world who our God is. Fear nothing, worry about nothing and trust Him for all things. And remember that this life is just a moment compared to what is waiting for us. Live your life for Jesus. It is so worth it.

Lord, you are our all and in all things, we trust you and you alone. You are our God and King and we worship you and only you. In Jesus name.

Today Reminder (Cain’s wife) – 07 February 2018

A reminder for today

And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. (Genesis 4:17)

One of the most popular arguments from our dear atheists is where did the wife of Cain come from. They look at this and think that our Bible is wrong and that there were other people besides Adam and Eve. This is a question that many Christians struggle with, so I asked Ken Ham to assist with the best way to explain it to you.

Perhaps no woman mentioned in Scripture has caused more confusion among Christians. Who was she, and why have so many believers struggled to give a biblical answer to this inquiry?

The simple answer is that Cain married his sister or another close relation, like a niece. This answer may sound revolting for those of us who grew up in societies that have attached a stigma to such an idea, but if we start from Scripture, the answer is clear.

1 Corinthians 15:45 tells us that Adam was “the first man.” Genesis 3:20 states that Eve “was the mother of all the living” (KJV), and Genesis 5:4 reveals that Adam and Eve “had sons and daughters” (besides Cain, Abel, and Seth).

There were no other people on earth as some have claimed. God did not create other people groups from which Cain chose a wife, as we are all made of one blood (Acts 17:26). If He had made others, these people would not have been able to be saved from their sins, since only descendants of Adam can be saved—that’s why it was so important for Jesus to be Adam’s descendant.

Doesn’t the Bible forbid marriage between close relations? It does, but the laws against marrying family members were initially given as part of the Mosaic covenant, approximately 2,500 years after God created Adam and Eve. Due in part to genetic mistakes, these laws were necessary to help protect offspring from mutations shared by both parents.

But that’s incest! In today’s world, this would be incest. But originally there would have been no problem with it. Looking back through history, the closer we get to Adam and Eve, the fewer genetic mistakes people would have, so it would have been safer for close relatives to marry and have children.

Christians who have a problem with this answer need to remember that Noah’s grandchildren must have married brothers, sisters, or first cousins—there were no other people (1 Peter 3:20; Genesis 7:7). Abraham married his half-sister (Genesis 20:2, 12); Isaac married Rebekah, the daughter of his cousin Bethuel (Genesis 24:15, 67); and Jacob married his cousins Leah and Rachel. Clearly, the Bible does not forbid the marriage of close relatives until the time of Moses.

Also, it is rather ironic for evolutionary skeptics to mock the biblical position that all people are descendants of the first man and woman. These evolutionists believe that all living organisms are descendants of the first living cell that somehow sprang to life from non-living material.

When we start from Scripture, it is easy to see who Cain’s wife was. God’s Word has the answer to this question and so many others like it; we just need to trust what He has revealed.

I hope this helps you in your encounters with atheists or anyone that is need of a little guidance. The Bible is perfect and correct, do not let the enemy try and confuse you.

Lord, there is no one like and we thank you for your Word. Open our eyes and minds to your scripture so that we can see what it is that you gave us in your Word and guide us so that we can fully understand it. In Jesus name.

Today Reminder (Korn) – 06 February 2018

A reminder for today

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8)

I am so glad that God loves idiots is the words that Brain Welch uses to explain his life that is saved by our amazing God. He talks about his life that was in ruins regardless all the money they were making as a rock band. He says that he believed that drugs take you to heaven, but God takes you even higher so why settle for less when you can do so much more. He says that his parents were not believers and when he became this Jesus freak they went to the church to find out what happened to their son and as a result they are now Christians. 

He talks about his addictions and how he had to let go of a life that he was so used of. He got custody of his daughter and suddenly he is living a life that makes him struggle with where he is in life. He tried to get sober after his wife left but it did not last. Then he added pills and ended into a hotel rehab, but cocaine was next on the list. 

He talks about the mess he was in because of drugs and a how he needed it even though he knew it was bad for him and could get him in serious trouble. He tried rehab, but it did not help because the doctor could not help him, so he finally ended up in church. He says that the best was when he realised that Jesus is for all and you do not need to be perfect to be saved. He says that he felt a new peace that filled him as he suddenly realised God is real.

He received Jesus and started to have church at his house every day. He said that the overwhelming love that Jesus brought into his life changed him and lifted him. The next day he stopped drugs and Jesus changed his whole life.

He says that now he lives by faith and had to walk away from money and trust God. He says that some of his band members are now also saved and he just gave all his money away to people in need.

His testimony is just amazing and how his life is now touching others. He says that God does not want you to worry because He will carry you through it. 

Now if God can touch a life like that and turn it around, imagine what He can do when we unite in prayer and trust Him. God wants us to share His love and show Him to a world lost in darkness. Be the light and believe with all your heart, because our God is an awesome God.

Lord, we thank you for testimonies like this and we ask that you lead us so that we can touch all with your love and mostly that we do not judge but rather see with your eyes. Break our hearts for what breaks yours. In Jesus name.
