Reflections of faith (Love) – 25 December 2018

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil. (1 Corinthians 13:4-5)

I am a King James bible reader and I love to dive into the word and discover more. New translations write these verses using love instead of charity, but what does charity mean in the King James. Charity (noun): In a general sense, love, benevolence, good will; that disposition of heart which inclines men to think favourably of their fellow men to think favourably of their fellow men, and to do them good. In a theological sense, it includes supreme love to God, and universal good will to men.

So, to me charity in this sense is love on steroids. It is not just love but a combination of love and kindness and caring. It embodies the words of Jesus when He said you must love your neighbour as you love yourself and you must love your enemy. Jesus made it simple – love everyone.

I chose love today, because the whole celebration of this day is because of love. God gave His only son so that whoever beliefs in Him will have eternal life. Out of love God took our sins and carried it to the cross so that we can be free. He came and set the foundation for love, because no greater love is there than he who will give his life for other.

You may think love failed you in this year and you may think that love lost is love that will never be found. Love in human form is not love but love in God is real love. I believe that this why so many relationships crumble and fall apart. We build our relationships on false happiness and man-made ideas and we exclude God. That is why we say a family that prays together stays together and this is why mine failed. I waited to long.

Therefore, I reflect on love as it will suffer long, and it will be kind. It does not envy and is not selfish and does not keep a book of wrongs. Love forgives, and love understand, and love will stay steady, because this is love in God and His love endures forever.

God loves you regardless of your mistakes. It is easy to give up and take the easy way out. Do not let the enemy steal your joy by listening to his lies but follow the voice of God and let His love be your guide and love as God loves. We have only one life and yes, it is full of challenges and heart ache, but God will be with you through it all and in most days, He will carry you.

Come with me as stop looking back and start looking ahead and see what He is preparing for us.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Reflections of faith (A Light) – 24 December 2018

For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. (Psalm 18:28)

Jesus said, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

This world we live in is a very dark place filled with terrible things and so many people that is caught in that darkness. Many have heard of the light and many has even seen it but so many do not comprehend it. When we call ourselves Christians, yet we allow sin to control us we do not understand the light and we still allow more darkness into our lives.

This is one of those power verses to me. God will light my candle. The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. When we are confronted with the evil of this world and off course, he does not show himself. He comes in the camouflaged form of something beautiful or something you might desire of even something nice. You see he is a devious yet genius challenger. He will make it look so good and he will convince you that it is not a sin. You need it anyway.

So, he will fool you by making you think it is ok and then you fall and the more you fall the darker your pit become. Many get stuck in that pit, because of the false need or the sin itself. People cannot let go of the sin, so they will fabricate reasons why they need it.

Here is an example of people making up a reason to keep the wrong. So, we celebrate Christmas for the birth of Christ, but in every mall, you will find a santa and people taking their kids to take a foto with santa and then they tell their kids that santa is brining them presents. What is wrong with this picture. It’s man who celebrates himself instead of the creator of heaven and earth. Then, this will make you think for a moment. The Bible only refers to Sundays as a holy day. Nowhere did Jesus say you must buy presents and celebrate His birth once a year. The birth of Christ is something we should celebrate every day together with the redemption and forgiveness that we have in the cross.

For one month in the year we act a little friendlier and we sing songs (about santa) and we eat to much. Why can we not do this every month. Love your neighbour as you love yourself and be kind. Help those in need and understand people who make mistakes. Show Jesus more often, then our world will change, but if we continue the way we do, all that we do is we are pushing God away and we are listening to the wrong voice.

And then we complain about our circumstances when we only know God in our need. To be a Christian is to be an ambassador of Christ and live out His word. Jesus said that you either for Him or against Him. Make your choice. Is it light or darkness? Is it life or death? Is it heaven or hell?

Celebrate God but do it every day. Leave the fat guy in the red suite for satan and his buddies. Live each day as if it is your last and love everyone as you would love yourself. Then we will not only change us, but we will change the world.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.

Reflections of faith (Giving) – 21 December 2018

He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. (Luke 3:11)

They say this is the season of giving. Yet when the prices go up and the budget tightens, we tend to forget that we should give our tithes. When you look at giving in the Bible there is so many scriptures referring to giving and Jesus spoke on many occasions about giving. There are many verses but two in particular is what I want to reflect on today.

One is Luke 6:38: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

The other is Matthew 25:43-45: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

Now, one Jesus said that when you give it shall be given to you and He also said that when you ignore people in need and here, He uses the words “the least of my brethren” which to me means those people on the street or maybe people different than you. These are the people He compares to Himself asking for help and when you did not help them you did not help Him as He ends with these striking words: “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

Now I give, and I try to help as much as I can, and I can tell you that I am blessed beyond understanding. This month specific I had no clue how we will be able to do everything and still make the end and I tell you that the Lord did amazing and unexpected things that I can only say is His work.

I know we all struggle, but there are many out there with much less than what we have and if Jesus said He will bless you for giving well He does, and I can testify to that because I see it in my life. The question is not who to help. Jesus said the least of all so help anyone in need. I can guarantee you that God can take your small blessing and multiply it so that I changes someone’s life. There are thousands out there with barely something to eat every day and we life in what is to them abundance. Do not let the enemy steal you blessings by keeping your heart locked for the need out in the world, because every life we can save with giving is a soul we can keep from perishing.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
