A
reminder for today
Study
this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will
be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and
succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not
be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you
go." (Joshua 1:8-9)
Do not be afraid:
Have you ever been through a day where you wished the day
would end but you also wished it would not, because, as much as you wanted the
events of that day to pass, you also did not want them to start. Looking back
you were afraid of what was waiting around every corner. Although today was one of
those days, it all went well in the end. I love this verse: Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you
wherever you go
I wrote to you yesterday about life as an ocean and the continuous
flow of waves that lifts you up and bring you down. And in this vast ocean you
search for land and you have to steer clear of the rocks so that you don’t sink. The
Lord is my land, my foundation and my stability in this ocean of life. What the
Lord told Joshua is so true to us today. He said: “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and
night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you
prosper and succeed in all you do.” This is so true about His word, the
Bible. We need to study it, meditate on it and be sure to obey it. Together with
this we must be strong and courageous, not afraid and never discouraged, because
the Lord is with us and in that we will succeed in all that we do.
I am once again in awe of how the Lord works within our
lives. We might not have all the answers now, but we will know one day why it all happened in this way. In the
midst of our heartache the Lord sends us friends and family to stand by our
side and to help us through our fear. The Lord is surely with us wherever we
are and wherever we go, and His angels are among us, helping and protecting us. Sometimes
the Lord uses a friend or a family member to be one of His angels.
My dear friend, today I want to remind us that we must
obey His word, be strong and courageous and never be afraid or discouraged. Stand
and face the waves, because you might be the one the Lord needs to be His angel
for someone else today. It might be in prayer or in physically helping someone,
but be sure of this: You are in His plan and by obeying His Word you will prosper
and succeed in all that you do.
I pray that you will not be afraid nor will you be
discouraged and that you will prosper in all that you do, in Jesus name.
