reminder for today
"Listen,
you kings! Pay attention, you mighty rulers! For I will sing to the LORD. I
will make music to the LORD, the God of Israel. (Judges 5:3)
After Ehud's death, the Israelites again did evil in the
LORD's sight. So the LORD turned them over to King Jabin of Hazor, a
Canaanite king .Deborah, the wife of Lappidoth, was a prophet who was judging
Israel at that time. When the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help,
the Lord gave Deborah instruction to call Barak and to let him take 10 000
warriors up against Sisera. I just love verse 14: Then Deborah said to Barak, "Get ready! This is the day the
LORD will give you victory over Sisera, for the LORD is marching ahead of
you." So Barak led his 10,000 warriors down the slopes of Mount Tabor into
battle.
My dear friend, after their victory over King Jabin,
Deborah and Barak sang a son of praise to the Lord. So today I have this image
of our hearts united in praise for our Lord and God who goes ahead of us to
give us victory over the things in life we need to defeat. God opens the doors
that need to be open and He keeps the ones shut that needs to remain closed.
Sometimes we need patience for something better and sometimes it is just not
the way to go. For all the amazing things that God does each day for us, let us
take today and just praise Him.
