reminder for today
Then
the angel of the LORD came and sat beneath the great tree at Ophrah, which
belonged to Joash of the clan of Abiezer. Gideon son of Joash was threshing
wheat at the bottom of a winepress to hide the grain from the
Midianites. The angel of the LORD appeared to him and said, "Mighty
hero, the LORD is with you!" (Judges 6:11-12)
I think of all my heroes in the Bible I can relate to
Gideon a lot. I have travelled on my journey and I have made so many mistakes
that have kept me away from God’s blessing. Yet all this time God has never left
me, instead in the midst of great disaster He always kept me up and stood by me
regardless of what I did or where I found myself.
I often wonder why Gideon had so little faith, but when I
look at myself I can understand. We have become picture people. We have this
picture in our heads and that is how we want life to be. When life does not fit
our picture we just brush it aside or give up or we ignore it.
My dear friend do not mistake God’s will with your own
idea, but rather be open to His guidance and wisdom and listen to His voice in
His Word or just follow your heart where Jesus lives.
I pray that you will learn from your mistakes and that
you will rise a mighty hero for Jesus that will shine in the darkest of hour’s,
in Jesus name.
