A
reminder for today
But
when the people of Israel cried out to the LORD for help, the LORD raised up a
rescuer to save them. His name was Othniel, the son of Caleb's younger brother,
Kenaz. (Judges 3:9)
Once again the people of Israel tuned away from God and
they were conquered by King Cushan-rishathaim of Aram-naharaim. For eight years
they suffered under his reign until finally they turned to God and called for
help.
My dear friend, are you calling for help or are you the
one God is sending to help? Whichever one it is, God will not leave you on your
own. Whether you are the rescuer God raises up or the one that God is sending
someone to rescue, you are not alone nor are you helpless wherever you find
yourself.
It says here in verse 10: The Spirit of the LORD came
upon him, and he became Israel's judge. He went to war against King
Cushan-rishathaim of Aram, and the LORD gave Othniel victory over him.
What is so amazing is that the Bible says that the Spirit
of the Lord came upon him. To me this is the Holy Spirit and this means that
within each of us lives a fighting Spirit, one that does not give up nor allows
us to be defeated. When Othniel defeated King Cushan-rishathaim of Aram, there
was peace for forty years. When the Holy Spirit moves in ordinary people like
me and you, the outcome is beyond amazing.
So do not fear, for within you is a mighty Spirit of an
almighty God. Stand up and let us start our journey as a judge for God to
rescue or even to be rescued.
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus.
Cheers
