A
reminder for today
Then
Elijah stood in front of them and said, "How much longer will you waver,
hobbling between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him! But if Baal is
God, then follow him!" But the people were completely silent. (1 Kings
18:21)
Choices Part 2: How was your day yesterday? Could you see
God in your decisions and did you make time to look for Him in them or at least
did you focus on your decisions to bring glory to God? I know, it is not so
easy and yes we are used to making our decisions from either experience or
need. Today I would like to stop at making the actual decision.
Decision making can be a challenge, because making
decisions is always an emotional thing and if you have made a few mistakes by
choosing the wrong option, you kind of gotten yourself in a place where you are
a little reluctant to make a decision. You might also be a quick decider and
chooses what either seems the easiest choice or the one with least resistance. You
might be a major strategist and you will take time evaluating all the options
and finally choose the option that suits your needs the best at the best value.
It doesn’t really matter what kind of decision maker you
are. Ultimately all decisions has an impact on your life, some longer than
other. For example choosing what to wear versus buying a car is not exactly a
decision that you would treat on the same level. Most career and business decisions
take careful calculations and time to finalise. So where is God in all of this?
My dear friend, God should be in the very centre of it
all. He is obviously the one who blesses you with choices and also these
choices in life is part of His great plan. So, yes, God should be right there in
the centre. Making the right choice is emotional, but within you lives an
almighty God that will guide those emotions if you are willing to allow Him to
do so. And of course impatience, desire and personal gain pushes us towards
making quicker decisions. But allowing God to guide you in making the choice
that He needs you to do is something that will take time and patience, especially
if you are not in the habit of following God’s direction.
Remember that we can always confirm God’s directions with
His Word or by getting confirmation from someone else. So making the decision
will take you into a three step process: 1 – Take the choice to God in prayer,
2 – Allow God to direct you in His way and 3 – You will make the choice with a peaceful
heart knowing that it is God’s will. And lastly my dear friend, not all choices
are there for your benefit. Some will benefit others but they will always be
made for the glory of God.
So come with me today as we listen to God and let Him
guide us in our choices.
Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus
Cheers
