Today Reminder - 07 November 2013 (Day 5 - A life of Change)

A reminder for today
“O LORD, God of Israel, you are just. We come before you in our guilt as nothing but an escaped remnant, though in such a condition none of us can stand in your presence." (Ezra 9:15)

I hope you are well my friend and that today will mark a day of victories for a life of change. You are in my thoughts as I write to you today and I wonder how you are doing and how God is touching your life. I must admit I often sit and wonder how things are on your side. There are many good friends of mine reading this blog all over the world and even though we have never met before I can feel a bond growing as we progress through a life that is changing for Jesus Christ. It is about 2:00 in the morning here in South Africa and some of you in other places in this world might be going to bed of getting up. It is wonderful to know that God is reaching out to our hearts with His Word sending it via my blog and making it available to everyone all over this beautiful world.

I think that in our journey towards change we need to remember who God is and that we are worshipping an almighty God. Ezra and the people of Israel realised that their way of life had been wrong in the eyes of the Lord and with the help of Ezra the people were reminded who God is and that they need to change their ways. Ezra writes that they are nothing but an escaped remnant and that they are in no condition to stand before God.

Now this is quite important. I do not know if you have ever felt that way. Have you ever felt that there is distance between you and God and that your life is in no condition to stand in His presence? I think this time of year is a time where people are going to be cheerful as they celebrate Christmas, but there is always other that are either alone or that just does not feel the joy of Jesus Christ. There are also those that celebrate for the wrong reasons and they have no worries changing their lives for the worse. But the ones I am thinking of is the ones that has maybe gone through a tough time or is going through a tough time or those that feel guilt and they feel distance between them and God. In fact, they kind of turn away from God as nothing but an escaped remnant.

My dear friend, I do not know what things are like on your side and how you are doing. But what I do know is that even though we seem to pull away from God at times, He will never pull away from us. Even in their sin God helped the people of Israel out of slavery. God is here my friend and He wants to pull you out of misery and into light where we will find His heavenly joy and live a life that brings about change. It is not how bad we are of how many mistakes we have made; it is how we stand up and take God’s hand as He pulls us out of the mud and back on to the road. God does not look at our mountains form our viewpoint, God looks at our mountains from His viewpoint and where He is looking from there is no mountains.

Come with me today as we look at God understanding that He is God and there is no other like Him. He created the world with His breath and parted the sea for Moses. He gave Joshua victory in battle and showed Noah how to build an ark. He made a young boy defeat a giant and took Joseph from the pit to the palace. He made a scared Peter in a powerful leader and took Paul and changed him from a Christian hater to a Christian maker. How much more is He able to do in your life? God is huge my friend and you have got to know that. Let Him be the God He is in your life for when you give God is rightful place and you realise that He is God, then there is nothing in this world that will take away your joy and burden you with forgiven guilt. You are far more valuable to God than you realise.

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
