Today Reminder – 01 April 2014 (Day 1 – My Life)

A reminder for today
As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. (Psalm 42:1)

I want to chat about life this month, life in its essence for God. I am so amazed that today I am reading Psalm 42. This specific verse is one of my favourites. I believe that every Christian walking a path with the Lord and journeying towards eternity must surely get to a moment where you share David’s words - I long for you.

David writes that he longs for God as the deer longs for water. I can relate to that. When you train really hard and you are extremely tired, your whole body unite in one huge desire for water. When you drink that water it is so refreshing and it revitalises you from top to bottom.

Now that immense need for water is how I believe we should desire God in our lives. You see we are influenced by our desires and our desires can dictate our appearance and our beliefs. When it is sweets and chocolates we desire we tend to look a little rounder than usual. When it is money and power we desire we can easily become hard and selfish and empty.

When we desire God we will be influenced by God. This means that when you get a little chubby from sweet stuff, you will surely get a little holier form God stuff. The more we desire and long for Him the more we will take on His identity. The ideal end to seeking and longing for Jesus is to be a replica of Him. When we need Him so much that it becomes unbearable, we will reconcile with Him. This reconciliation and merging will uplift our souls and free our minds and in the same way the water refreshes you from top to bottom, He will refresh your soul and spirit from top to bottom.

When Jesus revitalises you will see mountains move and storms will disappear. Nothing can compare to the refreshing power of Jesus water. Remember Jesus said "Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life." (John 4)

Do you feel bubbly?

Have and awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
