Today Reminder – 29 April 2014 (Day 22 – My Life)

A reminder for today
I cried out, "I am slipping!" but your unfailing love, O LORD, supported me. When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. (Psalm 94:18-19)

Life is full of potholes and most of them are hidden from sight. Why do we fall? We fall so that we can stand up again. I have written to you before about slipping and falling. Sometimes we slip with minor injuries and sometime we get stuck in sink sand and it feels as if we are pulled under as life and all its problems start to suffocate us.

My friend, life is all about falling and standing up again. It is when we fall that the enemy will always try and confuse us by filling our minds with doubt. Doubt makes us rethink our choices and this is when we make more mistakes. These mistakes cause more doubt and in the end we start losing faith and that is exactly what the enemy wants.

These verses are so awesome. The minute I read these verses I just knew they were for you. I see us on a mountain climbing a steep section when we start to slip. The more we try to regain our grip the more we slip and the further we fall. Suddenly the rope around our waists is tightened as we are pulled up to the top of the ledge where we were on our way to. When we finally calmed down we see a number of rangers who helped to rescue us from a definite and painful end.

When we slip it is the Lord who throws a rope at us and who pulls us out of the sand in back onto dry land. It is the Lord whom supports us and comforts us with renewed hope and cheer. With this in mind we should not slip anymore nor should doubt find its way into our minds.

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers

Just to remind you

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'  When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.   When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.  When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not holier than you. I’m just a simple sinner who received God...

Today Reminder – 7 August 2014 (Day 5 – Return to Proverbs)

A reminder for today Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10) When we realise that all we are and all that we are good at is a blessing from the Lord we soon see how we can honour Him with these wonderful talents. I give all the credit to the Lord for all that I accomplish and all that I do and I am humbled by the way He continues to give me wisdom in my work. The promise here is much greater than we realise. When we honour Him with all that we produce, He will fill our barns and let our vats overflow. This to me means that the more we honour Him in what we produce (do) the more He will bless what we do up to the extend where we will see His blessings and they will leave us completely overwhelmed. In the end all that we have comes from God and He will increase what we have when we seek Him above all and live to bring glory to Him. ...

Today Reminder (Boxes) – 9 November 2017

A reminder for today   I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One]. (Revelation 22:13 ) When you are reading this, I will be well on my way to my parents. Today is their moving day and we are off to help. Now, when it comes to moving I am almost an expert. We moved a few times and I can tell you it was never fun. Even still today our furniture starts to shake when a truck drives by. Now moving is all about boxes. Your stuff goes into the box and then onto the truck and finally at the new destination the stuff comes out of the box. One thing I can tell you is that with every move our stuff got lesser and lesser, because I gave some away that I thought we do not need anymore. Some would think I just made it less and easier to move. I would argue the opposite, but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When we look at life it is a bit like moving. You see we experience things in life and we box it. This c...
