Today Reminder – 02 May 2014 (Day 2 – Everywhere)

A reminder for today
Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. (Psalm 95:6-7)

When we start looking for the Lord everywhere around us, I believe that we should start with ourselves. We are the people He watches over, the flock under His care. When I think of myself and those around us, these verses always comes to mind: So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)

This means that every day you look in a mirror and see yourself or every time you look at someone else you are actually seeing God, His image and His creation and an amazing miracle. Our worldly nature has changed our perspective by people influence and media so that we look with blinded eyes, yet when we have accepted Jesus and His Holy Spirit fills us with His grace and love we should see different.

Come and let us ask the Lord to change our eyes so that we can see with Holy eyes and feel with Holiness. Let us look at ourselves and at other through His eyes so that we can see that God loves each one of us equally and that we should look no different at other than we look at ourselves.

I am reading an amazing book about martyrs and how Christians are persecuted and tortured for their faith and forced to deny the Lord. None of them turn their backs on Jesus and all of them accepted their fate joyfully. The one thing that caught my attention and kept me thinking for a while is that in all these cases the martyr prayed for his torturers. Each time they looked with loving eyes at the very hand that killed them and asked God to forgive these people.

How blind are we? God is right there, yes the man that cut you off on the road to work and the colleague that gossips behind your back and in the prisoner jailed for whatever his offence was. Jesus is there and each one is an image of the living God.

I leave you with these verses and believe me they keep me awake at night: "Don't be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28)

Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus

Cheers
