A
reminder for today
Tell
them the LORD looked down from his heavenly sanctuary. He looked down to earth
from heaven to hear the groans of the prisoners, to release those condemned to
die. And so the LORD's fame will be celebrated in Zion, his praises in
Jerusalem, when multitudes gather together and kingdoms come to worship the
LORD. (Psalm 102:19-22)
When I read these verses I had quite a few pictures
flashing through my head. We are often quick to judge prisoners and to frown
upon their early release. There are many people in this world wrongly accused
and condemned. There are many imprisoned because of their beliefs and their
religion. There are so many Christians throughout the world trying to bring the
gospel to people in countries where Christians are hated and killed. They are
often captured, tortured and thrown into prison.
Then I thought about the prisons we place ourselves in.
There are two kinds in my mind: There is the prison of safety and ignorance
that we build around ourselves to block out the need of the world so that we
can live in our own safe little kingdom and then there is the emotional prisons
that we allow ourselves to be trapped in where we are burdened by mistakes and
problems and these keep us from seeing the true lives we can have in Jesus
Christ. These prisons are satan’s work to misguide us and trap us into a world
where we abandon the Lord and live for our own downfall.
Today I want you to see the Lord in your eyes. They say
that your eyes are the windows to your soul. What do you see when you look into
your eyes? Do you see a prison that you have created for yourself or do you see
a light that is burning from within? With Jesus in you there are no more walls,
no more bars and no more prison cells. There is only freedom for in Jesus we
have no more boundaries and no more limitations. This world no longer bounds us
to its imperfections but we are lifted out of our chains and into His light.
When you look into your eyes see Jesus and see Him
through your eyes everywhere you go. Soon you will walk different, feel
different and think different. You will no longer be caught in a prison cell,
but you will soar with eagles high above the earth with the wind of His
presence steering you on and away from despair.
Jesus is in my eyes, can you see Him?
Have an awesome day dear friend of Jesus
Cheers
