Today Reminder – 31 May 2017

A reminder for today
In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over by observing your pure and reverent lives. (1 Peter 3:1-2)

There are very few that can truly understand the power of a woman. Their inner strength and commitment is unrivalled. What makes a woman so strong? I can say from experience that I have never met a man that is not intrigued by woman. Woman seem to be the weaker sex, yet they have an incredible tolerance for pain and suffering. Woman seem to have a natural ability towards faith that we men miss. A woman can control a man without even trying too hard. Now this amazing gift can be used for good and bad. Many men are tempted into darkness by a beautiful smile and many fall for the lies of the enemy in this sense.

What makes a woman a super woman? I believe it is her faith and her passion for the people she loves. Woman will love you unconditionally and forgive your mistakes even if you make them over and over again. A love like that is only seen in God and so a woman’s love can truly show Godly love as she gives all she has for her family. You must know that the world can give us an idea of beauty in woman when you look at all the magazines and their ideas of beauty. Yet true beauty does not come from appearance, but comes from within. So, a woman will accept the authority of her husband, but without her faith and strength a man is also weaker. Her commitment to God and His voice guides her man to obey God by her example. She will win over your affection by her pure and reverent live. There is nothing so beautiful than a woman who is strong in her faith and committed to God. What more do you need than the love of a woman that is grounded in Jesus. Her beauty shines from within and it makes her even more beautiful. She shines with the love of Jesus and she carries His peace into your home. She is the hands that keeps you from falling and her prayers brings strength into your life.
Therefore, girls, you are far more beautiful than any cover girl for your beauty is from Jesus. You are made perfect and your perfection echoes in the hearts of those you love. Walk with confidence for in you lives an all-powerful God.

Lord, thank you for the amazing woman in our lives. Form our mothers and friends to our wives. Give them strength so that they will not stumble and fall. Guide them for their prayers helps us from falling. Let your love shine in them and let them see their true beauty. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 30 May 2017

A reminder for today
For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. (1 Peter 2:21)

It is Tuesday and the week is well on its way. What is doing good? Peter writes that God called us to do good even it means suffering. To do good has many ways of looking at it if we would consider the word alone. We love to say, “You did good” or “That was good work”. It is a way of praise for something we did right or rather we did well. But what does Peter mean in this context here? What is the good work that God called us to do?

The Biblical definition of "good works" is not merely "good deeds". Biblical "good works" encompass every aspect of our thinking and conduct before God. The Christian's good works are rooted in Christ, and have cosmic purposes that God ordained before the world began.

So, good deeds must lead to bearing fruit. In this sense, what we do must touch the lives of other in way that they will seek more of what we have. It is in our “good deeds” that we show Jesus that lives in us. Bearing fruit starts with a better and accurate knowledge of God. And as we have already seen repeatedly, that knowledge comes by increasing our knowledge of God, by reading and studying His Word.

Every Christian need to remember a vital fact about good works: Christ is the root, good works are the fruit. That is the proper order. Christians aren't Christians because of their good works. Christians are Christians because they believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Christians are able to be fruitful in good works, bringing forth fruit that is pleasing to God, because of our position in Christ. Good works are believers' love-offerings to God. Good works are our witness to the unsaved. Good works are how we treat other and how we love our neighbour’s. Good works are us showing what we believe.

Here is the example Jesus gave us: He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone. He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly. He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed. Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.

Lord, guide us today so that our good deeds will carry other to you. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers

Today Reminder – 29 May 2017

A reminder for today
For God is pleased with you when you do what you know is right and patiently endure unfair treatment. (1 Peter 2:19)

How was your weekend, my friend? I do hope you rested a little and that you are ready for the week ahead. I started to feel sick last week and this weekend the flu got the better of me. I must admit I do not feel ready for this week. I would have preferred one more day of rest, but I guess that is just a nice thought. The enemy will try anything to break us and I am terrible when I am sick, but the Lord holds me safely in His hands and this discomfort will also pass.

Peter writes about respect and that we must respect everyone, and love your Christian brothers and sisters.  He reminds us that we must respect earthly authority, but fear God. Peter continues to write to the salves and says here that God is pleased when we do what is right and patiently endure unfair treatment. I stopped here for a moment and my thoughts ran over my own life and how impatient I can be at times. I have my moments where the enemy get to me and impatience is mainly the cause. People love to say that patience is a virtue. Now a virtue is behaviour showing high moral standards. I prefer to say that patience is a key. It is a key to unlock your faith and send it to new heights.
Patience shows control over the world and over the temptations of the enemy. Patience is one of the pillars of love and patience makes us grow in our trust. Jesus wants us to have faith and to trust Him with all our hearts. When we remain patient amidst our troubles and unfair challenges we show more faith and complete trust. A simple example is traffic. I get so impatient in traffic, yet the Lord keeps us safe and always gets us to school on time. So why am I impatient when He shows me that I can just trust Him. It is the same in all our challenges. Just trust and be faithful. The rest will all fall into place at the right time.

Lord, please take away our impatience and fill us with your love and wisdom so that we will seek you first before we are impatient. Help us to cast away all fears and fully trust you, because we cannot do this on our own. We need you, Jesus, more and more each day. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome day, dear friend of Jesus.

Cheers
